HARTFORD, Conn. — When University of Connecticut professor Thomas Craemer first began researching reparations for slavery, most mainstream white politicians weren’t talking about the issue.
Now, more than a dozen years later, the idea that African Americans should receive restitution for the grievous legacy of enslavement and racial discrimination is sparking a political debate that is helping to shape the 2020 presidential race.
“I’m surprised by this myself,” said Craemer, an expert on racial bias and a professor of public policy at the University of Connecticut in Hartford.
At the most recent Democratic presidential debate in July, several candidates expressed support for legislation, currently pending in Congress, that would create a commission to study restitution, including financial compensation, for the descendants of slaves.
Marianne Williamson, an author and spiritual leader, went further, and has proposed creating a “reparations commission” that would disperse $200 billion to $500 billion over the next 10 years “to promote education, infrastructure, and projects dedicated to black communities.”

So collective guilt over events that happened long ago is now OK? And the “sins of the father, are now the sins of the son, or in this case great-great-grandson”. Let’s go down that road for a moment with a thought experiment.
Who were the slave owners? Rats. Who created the KKK? Rats. Who created and enforced “Jim Crowe” laws? Rats.
Who emancipated blacks? Republicans
Does not take a big leap in logic to figure out where reparations need to come from. Only Rats.
But, collective guilt is nonsense. And, only people guilty of crimes should pay for the crime as only the people injured should be compensated. Any other path will tear apart a civilization, which is the goal by the way.
Returning blacks to Africa is the only way to “repair” the damage of slavery.
My idea of reparations are
1. Renounce citizenship and surrender passport
2, one way coach flight to African country of their choice
3. Give them $1000 each. By Africa’s standards they will be wealthy.
Or, you could self identify as a black Native American transexual anti-Israel former slave with a Spanish surname and win all the marbles. Or did I miss one of the important "protected classes"?
NO! Guilt is not passed down through the genes, and neither is entitlement.
There already are reparations! All big cities run by democrats are parasitic $hitholes that survive with state “aid” which is actually a massive transfer of funds from those who earn it to those who vote democrat.

None of these reparations plans envision giving money to the descendants of slaves. It all goes into a big slush fund for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. A lot of folks who think they’ll receive tens of thousands will be very upset.
They’re quickly losing colored folks votes. They should promise reparations to illegals every election cycle for the next 50 years or so to keep them voting democrat.
There are fewer rich idiots with “white guilt” than poor people who vote.
