Last October, when I went to the Big E Fair in West Springfield, MA, Trump hats, pins and other gear were in abundance. Been going to these fairs for decades and never before were they political like this. It seems that Trumpers feel safe there. (I'm going back next month!)
Anyway, I posted on another thread today that approval ratings do not necessarily translate into how an election will turn out. For example, many people might think Trump as being an arrogant SOB, but they are voting for him anyhow. Especially when the alternative is likely to be a gun-grabbing socialist who wants open borders, higher taxes and 17 different bathrooms for all the different genders.

I know a number of folks who don’t approve of Trump but will vote for him.
I live in NYC, Staten Island to be exact.
My property taxes aren’t high enough to be affected by the 10k law.
But those Rs who are complaining..we CHOSE to live here.

I didn’t cry when Trump included the property tax deduction cap BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE I CHOSE TO LIVE!
It has NOTHING to do with Trump.
Many Rs feel like I do but a few cry.
Once away from urban centers you find nothing but huge Trump support everywhere. You don’t have to go to a fair to see it just go down main street in any small town... up in the rust belt thr minute you are outside the cities you see just how huge Trump is supported... near the cities his supporters must stay low or deal with the irrational lefties so they largely just quietly live their lives and will crawl over glass on Election Day to vote Trump.
Once away from those place you see open and Proud Trump support everywhere.
The left doesn’t see it because they don’t live their enclaves and do nothing but reinforce each other...
Trump is going to win re election by the largest margin since 1984.
Dems have marched off the liberal cliff and are going to replay 1972 with the economics of 1984.. there is no path to the White House for them. Best case 15 states plus dc. Worst case they won’t get to 10 states plus dc
I wish a landslide was possible be we must not be complacent.
County Fairs are populated by people who tend to be more GOP/ Trump or Conservative politically-here’s why-they are more often married, family or white and interested in the type of entertainment that Fairs offer-old fashioned America.
On the opposite side of the coin: I go with my son to a lot of Club Basketball tournaments and the crowd there is completely opposite-primarily “people of color” Dem bumper stickers abound and I have seldom see an American Flag decal and have never seen a MAGA hat or Trump decal.
the point being that we can’t get complacent nor forecast based on what we see from our front porch. We need a strong economy and the reason is the changing US Demographics are working against any GOP candidate.
Excuse me if you have seen this before but Just look at the states won by Trump,he won 32 states but only 4 have a population of Hispanic voters over 13%. Clinton by contrast won 28 states and only 5 had a Hispanic population of under 13%.
In CA, the Hispanic Population is now about 40% (and yes fueled by illegal immigrants and higher birth rate )and African American 12%. They myth is it white liberals-they are a small sliver-at least in CA-its the “people of color” vote that drives the dems-odd that it is still white liberals running the mansion
This demographic shift and resulting voting trend is what is going on in early stages in Nevada, Az, Fl and now Texas. Colorado is now over 20% Hispanic and now a dem state, Nevada over 29% and voting solidly blue. I believe this is why the dems are for illegal immigration-it gets them votes and power.
The U.S. Hispanic population surged another 1.2 million last year and now is a record 59.9 million, according to newly released U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.
The percentage of Hispanics as part of the overall U.S. population also jumped to 18%.
We need to address and Trump at least tries for these votes-jobs not welfare
