There will be 32 pairs from the '60s to compare, each one labeled with year and year-end chart position. 32 songs will emerge as the winners of this round. Any ties will have a run-off.

The vote is simply: which of each pair is better? No answer, no vote.

Please vote on as many pairs as possible - no onesies ("I don't like any others in this entire list"), please!

Is post #7 correct? I selected one song from each pairing but didn’t rank any of my choices.

That was fun. My husband and our 19-year-old daughter, Drama Queen, turned up to kibbitz as I played the songs I didn’t recognize on YouTube. Some of us will have nightmares about long car trips in the 60s and 70s.

It would be interesting, for each round forward, to re-rank by percentage of votes and then reset the brackets based on most popular vs. least popular, second highest to second lowest, etc so the highest vote getters do not go head-to-head in the early rounds.

It would make for a more interesting quarterfinals, semis and championship round.

It doesn't look as though "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro got a single vote. That song often pops up on charts of least favorite songs of all time. However, Rudy Vallee's version of "Honey" is among my top 100 favorite songs.
