I see lots of ambiguous ads lately showing adults with children—on trips together, doing body stuff . . . Even worse...two men with a baby or toddler, behaving as if they are a couple.

You are correct, the subtle use of ads to convey a message not just for the product but for the subliminal message of diversity or child abuse.
