Me, personally, I think we need a different way to rank these songs. “Oh, Pretty Woman” is a good song, but it is not the best song of the 1960s.

Perhaps not but it was voted so among we FReepers, me included. 😁

Which was your favorite of the '60's?

I voted for the other song, but that’s not the best song, either.

I don’t have a definitive favorite song, so I can’t answer that. What I had in mind was to just do a list of every song that charted in some way and rank them like this:

0 stars - Execrable
1 star - Poor
2 stars - Good
3 stars - Very Good
4 stars - Excellent
5 stars - Iconic

I wouldn’t put them in head to head matchups, especially when you have 2 or 3 star songs and you’re trying to figure which is better. “Oh, Pretty Woman” I’d rank maybe 3 1/2 stars.

It's like the Electoral College. We may like or dislike it (I love it) but it is the Law of the Land.

Do I like this outcome? No - I like the cover version better.

Shall we improve upon the Process? It's up to the Rebel, and frankly I'm tickled that I was able to participate. As long as the process is fair I'm good with the status quo. Besides this beats (many) coronavirus threads.

The song that SHOULD have won is Go to the Mirror! by The Who but it wasn't even on the list. My fav that was in the list was Sitting on the Dock which had a strong showing.
