First, there is no info on non-police justifiable homicides. They aren't suicides, police shootings, crimes or accidents. Where do they fit in?
Second, the local stats count up "homicides", but police shootings, justified civilian shootings and accidents killing others are also homicides in addition to the criminal shootings. Just counting homicides is probably mixing apples and oranges. Beware quoting these stats without much further research as to where the homicide numbers came from.
It is a very difficult number to be certain of. Our best estimates is there are about 1500 justifiable homicides a year.
I have problems with the article, because if is more of a rant than an argument.
