My aunt and uncle says American news regarding Corona would be better if Peter Jennings was still alive

I used to read newspapers as well...now, if I see someone reading any newspaper, my first thought is that they are a pompous leftist fool.

I know they might not be, but that is the first thing that enters my mind.

The Peter Jennings, that got fooled by Captain Janks during the O.J. Chase?

I retired in 2003, and have been practicing social distancing since then. I started doing it before it recently became necessary. Most of my socializing is done at my doctors' offices. Because I rarely go anywhere, I can't remember the last time I actually saw anyone reading a newspaper. I don't even watch the local news on TV, or read the local paper. I was born in Rochester, NY, and have lived here because this is where my career took me. All I know is that it's a quiet place, with very little crime, and it's cheap. At this point in my life, besides my two sons, that's good enough for me.

The reason people rely on TV news channels, and newspapers for their daily dose of what's going on, is because they are lazy. They'd rather be spoon-fed what they think is the news, by a lying press. They have no motivation to find out whether they're being fed a pack of lies, or if something is missing from what is being reported. They're nothing but a bunch of mind-numbed sheep. Thank God I went to school, and college when it was still popular to force kids to think for themselves, and to question things. Working in Corrections made me an even bigger skeptic, because you couldn't trust what anyone was telling you, not the inmates, or the Administrators. Also, having developed a security mind-set from the job has been a plus because it's stayed with me all these years.
