"I have a degree of contempt for anyone who gets their news from television or newspapers these days."

I happen to feel the same way. I can't remember the last time I read a newspaper either. Before I retired in 2003, I used to pick up the New York Post before heading into work, and sometimes I'd access The Washington Times online. I sometimes click on the links in FR threads if I want to read the full article, but so many of them won't let you access their sites unless you turn of your adblocker, which I absolutely refuse to do.

I used to read newspapers as well...now, if I see someone reading any newspaper, my first thought is that they are a pompous leftist fool.

I know they might not be, but that is the first thing that enters my mind.
