Tucker Carlson: Americans Feel Undefended And Neglected, Expect A President To Respond To A Crisis
RCP video ^ | 6-26-2020 | Ian Schwartz

Tucker Carlson warned the anti-statue movement "cult" could do irreparable harm to President Trump's presidency and reelection campaign. On Thursday's broadcast of his FOX News show, Carlson challenged viewers to name a single leader in world history that stayed in power after failing to "quell a rebellion."

TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS: President Trump may lose this election. Unless fundamental facts change soon, it will be tough for him to be reelected. Trump’s loss would mean, just a few months from now, Joe Biden becomes the president. The United States government would fall under the control of the radicals who control Joe Biden. They will remake the country. We know that virtually nobody watching this show wants to hear that. But it’s true. Key people around the president know it. They see the numbers. They’re worried.

At some point in the future, historians will marvel at the fact the president lost ground during a pandemic and then during mass riots. Both crises should have highlighted his strengths. ...

In respond to Tucker's words, Americans "Expect A President To Respond To A Crisis",

We've seen plenty examples of Obama's response to 'a crisis' in previous years - got in front of tv cameras, used teleprompter to deliver speeches of nothing burgers, needed $$$$ money to distribute to his cronies, etc. etc.

If Tucker doesn't know Donald Trump HAS BEEN responding to "crisis after crisis" since 2015, esp. after his unexpected win in Nov 2016, Carlson might as well be in a different day job (in his bio, "American conservative journalist and political commentator") because he's not very observant.

Maybe Tucker Carlson has the insider knowledge of internal polls which we know nothing about, I think he's relied too much on current polls to spew this monologue. And usually he's smarter than that.

I think he has to say something for an hour every night and after a while some of it has got to be garbage to fill time. These guys spout to make a living whether they’re on the left or the right or the middle.

and from what I can see of the billions and billions in spending since 2000 neither side’s media has moved the dial even slightly in the other direction

Today Rush said that DJT isn’t completely confident that the military will obey his orders regarding these domestic riots. If that is true, the coup has succeeded.

Trump has to pace himself......I think his strategy might be "let them destroy themselves" and presto, he has all the ammo to bring an onslaught in Sept....

God please protect us.....

It’s much harder for a president to have an effect when his own party will not support him. How can you lead when you have no followers? The Republicans are letting this country be destroyed by fanatics.

No one should be at all surprised. The criminal class has always dreamed of a world without police and that’s all this amounts to.

I suspect that Tucker Carlson, who is well aware that he's getting very high ratings right now, thinks he can goad President Trump into doing something before he (the President) is ready to do so.

There is lots of time from now until the election (130 days to be exact, four months and eight days). If we go back 130 days from today, it was February 17th, which is when the Wuhan Coronavirus crisis was just beginning to really take hold.

A hell of a lot can happen in 130 days, as we have seen. The reality of what mob rule means will only become more obvious over time. President Trump knows the election will be won in the last two or three weeks before election day.

He doesn't even know for sure who he's running against. There's a fairly large chance the Democrats will switch out Joe Biden for someone else. The target has to come into view before he can do battle against it.

I picked up on that, too. Scary. Then it falls to well-regulated militias in local areas.

“Trump has to retake the initiative. The case for Trump was never to sit back and watch the country devolve into chaos. Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz could have done that with a lot less consternation about their tweeting. Trump was not elected for his awesome personality or ability to bring the country together. People know that, and I don’t think anyone is pretending that’s who he is. He was elected precisely to avoid moments like we are currently in. It’s not a coincidence that his failure to take action over the last month has led to his worst approval ratings in recent memory. Meanwhile, Trump was tweeting about Carly Fiorina yesterday, someone most swing voters don’t even know exists.

Many will scoff at Carlson’s warning, but they ignore him at their own peril. Even assuming every single poll is fake, including Trump’s internal polls which also show him losing, wouldn’t you rather be safe than sorry? Every Trump supporter should be treating this election like he actually is down 10 points (which is his current RCP average deficit). Over-confidence and assumptions about the economy rebounding or a “silent majority” are how you wake up with Joe Biden as President-elect in November. That’s a reality the country can’t afford.”

Tucker is tantruming like a debate club president
Write the speech you want “ Trump” to give
Stand up and lead a movement
Organize
Submit a plan for open discussion
Tucker has a platform
Back the President.

Don’t whine that Trump ( alone) has to DO something
As if he is not DOING things that are not public knowledge

I honestly sometimes don’t see why Trump would want to run again. He doesn’t need this crap in his life. The left is demonic along with some so-called Republicans.

King Louis 16th was a also a great man, but weak on crime and he let the ‘progressives’ in 1789 ransack France.

They cut his head on two years later.

I think that has been the Rats plan all along, to break down Trump so that he doesn’t even want a second term.

At least, so far, I don’t see it happening. Part of me, thinks, that I wouldn’t blame him if he just said “I don’t need this crap”, especially the shameful way the Republicans have ditched him.

And if he does lose, I will blame the Republican Party, and will never vote for another Republican again.

Tuck deliberately is ignoring things President Trump has done. He’s also failed to report on those things when they happened.

I think this was a grudging support of voting for Trump because Tucker is getting blowback.

Please don’t worship Tucker he’s a bit of an sob.

Otherwise he’s been correct

And, so, that's why Tucker says that Americans feel undefended.

Got to say I agree with Tucker. What he said last night shook me and made me realize that Trump could lose. Trump needs to get out ahead of the riots. No, I don’t know how but Trump has lost the initiative and that always looks weak. We need to put some points on the board. Have a couple of strong showings, victories, to reassure the base as well as the undecideds.

Trump is practicing federalism, allowing the states to have their sovereignty, for better or worse. The media and the dems are all hoping he will get involved so they can blame him.

In the meantime, everyone will need to talk to their neighbors to see if they have an interest in community security.
