I have nothing but love for the phrase "Black Lives Matter."
But I have NO love for the POLITICAL organization that exploits this phrase with no actual action or love for the actual loss of black lives.
When I say that ALL Lives Matter that is not hate filled or political, it is actually a heart felt sentiment. I feel it. I claim it. And I WALK it.
I am no longer bothered by any names you call me. Nor do I care what labels you want to put on me, or the lines you want to create to define my virtue or morality.
My name is Sherri Reese and I LOVE people! I love them. I see the broken hearts; the broken spirits; the defeatism that lives in the souls of the lost, the homeless, and weary.
I want to change the world. Not the whole world all at once. Just one world at a time.
I want to give a broken father back to his children as a whole man.
I want to heal the anger and the hate and fear and frustration that lives inside of broken communities. I know many of you feel the same. But we are left with the messages in media and politics that the answer is beyond us. Beyond love. Beyond compassion. Beyond us.
It is NOT beyond us. The answer is NOT in violence, anger, hate, and destroying in order to be heard. You are heard. We do hear you. We want to help. We want to love you and change your neighborhoods, communities, and your future.
But you don't hear us or trust us.
Who wants to keep you from us? And ask yourself-- How are they serving you and helping you? Are they helping your children be better educated so they have a better chance to rise and succeed?
Are you happier? Are you safer?
When they claim they are protecting you from me? I am flawed. But I am also very broken and very desperate to see you rise. I do not need you to be broken to keep any of my power or my influence.
I mentored a minority teen that wanted to get into the medical field so badly. To say that she came from a broken family was an understatement. I worked with her for over 5 years. She supposedly passed her GED. I do not know how, because she wasn’t capable of doing 4th-grade math. I worked and worked with her. I would give her homework only to have her come up with multiple excuses as to why she had not done it. I tried everything to motivate her. It got to the point that she would just admit that she was lazy and didn’t do it. I was working harder at trying to teach her than she was trying to learn.
All she wanted to do was sleep. She is now homeless with her homeless mother. I pray for her, but you can’t help someone that refuses to learn. She is young, beautiful and living on the streets somewhere in California.
Bump
You are a wonderful person. Thank you!
Yep. Money and government programs solve nothing by themselves. Love and individual care is what is needed. Known for thousands of years but it seems evil would have us believe otherwise. God bless!
Ha!
That sounds more like what BLM really is!
PBL from BLM. Protecting Black Lives from Black Lives Matter.
Burn, Loot, Murder.
