Bingo! That is calling a spade a spade, in large part everything else misses the mark.
The International Left, with China notably in the lead, is on the move around the globe. The DNC and its Democrat voters, globalists and sadly RINO's as well, are simply "useful idiots" for the Left.
Many or most of our largest institutions are shot through with Marxists/Maoists; we are an easy target. We have a very capable military but it is subject to civilian/political control and in that regard, we have let our house fall into disorder.
At the moment Trump is sitting on our behalf in what could be called a crooked card game - it appears he holds the strongest hand, but it will be interesting to see if he can pull it off.
