“Found” property like that has a crap possession chain and therefore almost nothing on it is submissible as evidence. Also I don’t think they had an active investigation going, so not much reason for the FBI to care.

baloney the information clearly established probable cause to investigate serious crimes including national security..,.with it they cocould subpoena records take testimony get financial records flight and meeting information etc.. thats what investigators do..they dont start with signed confessions...

When law enforcement obtains information (where they are not comfortable with the chain of custody) that is where the investigation _begins_, not where it ends!

Hunter’s attorney confirmed ownership, recipients of the emails confirmed they are genuine. We’ll find out this week if there is an ongoing investigation, but the FBI’s top child sex crimes lawyer signed for the hard drive contents.
