Yesterday after the President spoke in Washington, the million or so followers of the President marched to the Capitol. This is when some individuals in the crowd started damaging the Capitol building. When this occurred, the Trump supporters in the crowd starting yelling at them and telling them to stop. Former New York City Police Chief noted this in a tweet:

It’s the smear. It’s all they’re good for. The MSM is not a positive influence in our society. They only stir the shit.
The only ones who damaged property, broke windows, broke into offices, entered the Senate Chamber and attempted to enter the House floor were Antifa.
99% of the crowd were peaceful supporters of President Trump with the balance of the crowd being ANTiFA......Antifa were the destructive people...................

It only takes a few people to “ruin a mob”.
Yes, there is strong evidence that many, if not most, of the bad actors yesterday were likely Antifa types rather than Trump supporters. Anarchists will never miss such an opportunity. Many of those we saw pictures and videos of looked far more like Antifa to me than “one of us”.
However, there were certainly more than a few “Trump supporters” who were rightfully angry and they got carried away in the mob. This is the psychology of a mob and it is true almost every time. It is amazing to me how well-behaved the most rabid Trump supporters have been throughout his Presidency and yes, most of them were certainly urging calm. I believe Pence choosing that moment to drop his statement about what he was going to do certainly did not help things as we saw the same anger here.
To be fair -
The same thing happened in many “BLM protests” throughout the country. I saw this firsthand when “protestors” smashed the windows of a store in my city and other protestors physically pulled them from the store and many others yelled repeatedly at them to stop. They thought they were going to “loot and scoot”, but their fellow protestors were having none of it in my city so this phenomenon can cut both ways in many places.
It will never apply in cities where there is a huge number of urban youth who are typically after excitement and free stuff rather than any righteous cause they feel strongly about.
We were on the lawn. The only damage I saw done was snow fencing knocked down and some cloth scaffolding covers torn up.
We were on the opposite side. The crowd roared whenever anyone scaled the scaffold and waved a flag. Hardly the work of rioters and traitors.
They won’t prosecute Antifa instigators.

Liberals instigated violence at Trump’s rallies in 2015 and 2016 to make conservatives look bad.
The same thing is happening here. And it was done to justify systematic oppression of conservatives by Biden-Harris AND scare Republicans into rolling over on the Electoral College vote that was going on.
