Health and Human Services secretary Alex Azar submitted his resignation in a letter to President Trump on January 12, citing the pro-Trump riot at the Capitol last week, NBC reported.
Azar’s resignation will take effect on January 20, the same day that Joe Biden will be sworn in as president. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic early in 2020, Azar has been involved in the Trump administration’s response as a member of the White House coronavirus task force. Azar has also overseen Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s vaccine development program.

The letter mentions the disturbance at the Capitol, but neither gives it as the cause of resignation, nor blames it on the President.
In fact, the letter urges the President to CONTINUE to speak against violence, thus implicitly saying that the President’s actions during it all have been correct and honorable.

NRO jumped the shark with CNN
The CNN story and DOJ admission supports the idea it was NOT an insurrection but a protest that got out of hand. Also, I have yet to see a direct link between what Trump has said and the actions of a few at the Capitol.
This is a president who literally had “peaceful protest” campaign signs waved at rallies with tens of thousands and who on 1-6-21 even said those who were going to the Capitol do so “peacefully and patriotically.”
The Capitol “insurrection” story is the ultimate false flag against the Trump administration. Those on the side of defending, not defunding, police would not be attacking police. We already know the names of some BLM, ANTIFA linked radicals costumed as Trump supporters.
The Left can whine over “whataboutism” but the reality is they support violent protests, looting and burning and always have. Even during Trump’s inauguration. They supported invading a Capitol building as happened in Wisconsin over Scott Walker’s reforms. They excuse it all if it’s an issue they identify with politically. They planned to impeach Trump on day one, they used the power of the federal justice system to undermine his administration even during the “peaceful transfer of power” and now they impeach again a week from his leaving office with no hearing whatsoever-unprecedented-and plan to hold a trial after he leaves office in total contradiction of the impeachment clause. The press is silent on their rush to judgment because they are all about blame and destroying Trump.
The America First movement begun by Trump, with his campaign of outreach to the forgotten and minority communities, is an existential threat to their monopoly on minority voters and the Lefts perpetual path to power and their larger globalization agenda.

I don’t know why he cited the riot but I suspect he is doing it to be left alone. He stuck with Trump until the very end. No reason to attack him.
Unlike Dr Redfield, Azar seemed to do a decent job at HHS on the agendas of pricing transparency and COVID policy

That is encouraging, but, can you please provide some sourcing so we don’t get too hopeful that the FBI and DOJ still have some integrity.
Azar said he’s continuing on the job till Biden takes over and the story is fake news.
