Mass Exodus: People in Five States Say Get Me Outta Here

It's easy to guess the states people are leaving. Can you guess the top states where people are headed?

Top Outbound States

Top Inbound States

The above numbers are on a percentage basis of inbound to outbound moves, not absolute numbers.

The report is from North American Moving Services.

Key Takeaways from the 2020 Migration Report

Top Five Destination Cities

  1. Phoenix

  2. Houston

  3. Dallas

  4. Atlanta

  5. Denver

Top Five Exodus Cities

  1. New York

  2. Anaheim, Calif.

  3. San Diego

  4. Chicago

  5. Riverside, Calif.

I am disappointed the report did not have absolute numbers, making the study flawed.

Nonetheless, Idaho is interesting.

Idaho has made the top 10 each year since 2015, most of the time on the top of the list.

Congratulations to Idaho and of course Illinois in reverse, a state I have written about many times.

Q: Why does it take 3 weeks to leave Illinois?
A: Everyone is leaving and that is how long it took to schedule a one-way van out.

"Everyone is leaving. No one is coming," a U-Haul agent told us.

We love it here in Utah. The photo opportunism are endless. There are 7 national parks within 5 hours or so of where we live.

What’s most interesting to me is that as liberals migrate from CA and NY, causing other states to trend left, their original states are getting MORE LIBERAL, as measured by the state legislature numbers.

Don’t move to any state that has an income tax.

Agree. That would seem to suggest, most bailing out of states like CA etc, are more conservative. Like I've always said, why would leftist bail from the leftist utopia paradise of CA? The fact is, most leftist stay put, forcing the patriots to bail out.☺

And what people flat out ignore and who like to blame others for their states leaning left, is the fact their own states and public schools churn out a conga-line of millions of young leftist every single year upon graduation.

So states leaning blue, can also blame their own liberal public education systems who've been brainwashing their own kiddies for decades.

Better look deeper.
My wife’s nephew was there for a while and by his account it’s total dirtbag. And he’s a fluent Spanish speaker.

I know a couple, husband is a cop 1 year from his pension. He’s outta here as soon as he retires, which given the climate for police he’s pretty sure he’s not gonna stay on 1 day longer than he has to. He’ll find work, maybe even in LE or security. He’s already been to Idaho twice this year looking for property. His wife does some book keeping work for me, she told me yesterday she’s out next year. Gotta find another bookkeeper but no immediate rush.

Myself, considering a move, maybe Reno Nevada area. I know it’s gotten a lot more expensive there but it’s still growing and it is a good place for industry. People to hire, airport, rail yard etc. And still a lot cheaper than where I am now.

When the USA goes down, I don't believe any non-European majority country will be a safe place to land.

My grandmother lived to her mid 90’s. Said the same thing more or less, that it was distressing that her body couldn’t keep up with her mind. She never lost a beat, mentally. Many things she did over her life, and wanted to do, but her body just couldn’t do it. That must be very depressing to the soul. And, you outlive just about every friend and neighbor you made over a lifetime. My missus became a great friend to her, took her to lunches and drove her places to take photographs - taught her how to use photoshop of all things to edit her photographs. And they were 2 generations apart. Hard to make new friends especially generations younger than you and when it’s hard to get around.

the problem is do we really know after seeing what Dominion voting machines are capable of?
I have no doubt it’s been a rig for globalists for some time now.

Immigrants from liberal/authoritarian countries overwhelmingly vote Democrat for at least two generations. That is documented.

Most of those moving from Democrat states vote Democrat. See California refugees moving to Arizona and Colorado turning those states purple to light blue.

I lived in OR briefly in the mid seventies. The “Don’t Californicate Oregon” bumper stickers were ubiquitous. It didn’t help.

And, you outlive just about every friend and neighbor you made over a lifetime.

That was specifically mentioned by my grandma. She outlived all of her siblings and in-laws, all of her childhood and adult friends, her husband, one son and one grandson. Despite all her surviving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she missed those who had passed on before her. There was no one left to share memories of the old days with.

I keep meeting people who recently moved to Utah from CA that pay cash for homes, drive up prices and then tell me we need more Starbucks.

Believe it or not, that is happening in Alaska too. A recent new resident of our town started raising a ruckus about "Assault weapons" and toy guns being sold in the hardware store. (The horror!) He lobbied the newspaper and radio station to stop accepting ads for gun sales. He went to the town council and gave an impassioned plea for "Common sense"

His campaign to educate the local yokels lasted about a month. I do not know if he still lives here or not. (Odd because it's a really small town)

I can't help but chuckle when I think of how he might have reacted if he had seen what I saw a day or two after I arrived in town: A blood smeared man in cammies with a model 629 openly on his hip, dressing out a black bear in his skiff, tied up at the public docks; or another common sight in season - A moose hung from the dock crane being skinned.

Most of those moving from Democrat states vote Democrat.

Where do you get that? Care to provide links which document or substantiate that?

Thinking about moving to Florida just about now.

What governors like Murphy and Cuomo don’t get is technology now allows us to work from anywhere!

New York City is no longer the capital of the world and never will be again. Corporations will not keep paying for office space when their employees’ productivity is higher working from home which it measureably is, apparently.

Residents of states like New York, New Jersey and California will get permission from their employers to work from home permanently only getting together in person for team building type large meetings held at hotels. This was a trend that was happening anyway, but now due to Covid, there is huge evidence that paying for real estate is a waste of money. There will be office space for a symbolic corporate HQ but it will be a small fraction of the office space once held throughout New York, New Jersey and California.

The low or zero income tax states will see an influx and the blue states will bleed revenue. It’s inevitable.
