Controversy erupted as several players on the U.S. Women’s Soccer team appeared to turn their backs on a 98-year-old veteran of World War II while he played the national anthem on a harmonica.
*Update: After footage and pictures went viral, the US Soccer communications team sent out a tweet denying disrespect was taking place and that the players were turning to face the flag. The alleged protest came ahead of a match against Mexico during an Olympic Send-Off competition in East Hartford, Conn., on Saturday, before the team heads to Tokyo next month for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, the Summer Olympics competition that was canceled last year due to COVID-19.

Two black women in the left side did not turn with the rest of the team, nor were they clapping as all the other team members were when he finished. They were being disrespectful.

At this point, the default position of athletes, at least to me, is that they’re anti-American...unless they are actively pro-American.

These women are miserable, unbalanced lesbians who are pathologically narcissistic. They seek attention and conflict in everything they do. They palpably hate rational, decent people.
Yes, several members of the team turned toward the FLAG, as they were supposed to. Many members, including some who turned toward the flag, had their hands on their heart.
Turning toward the flag during the anthem, removing your cap, if you have one, and, if you are in civilian attire putting your hand over your heart as a salute, is the PROPER respectful motion.
Oddly, many people, including those who call themselves “patriots” have no knowledge of that, it seems.
Re: the national anthem: You don’t applaud afterwards. It’s not an entertainment.
You may not applaud the anthem but why can’t you applaud the performance?

Well, it’s not like I needed an excuse to NOT watch them, but these broads are world-class economic idiots! They want to be paid like men, and then they do all they can to ruin their brand among the people who would potentially pay their salaries. The face of their team is thoroughly unlikable. If it was a mistake, they would have over-compensated for it, rather than just leaving it up to question.
