Going Viral: Veteran’s Response To Afghanistan Situation and Biden Needs To Be Seen By Every American

Appearing on the left-wing network MSNBC, Army veteran Matt Zeller absolutely eviscerated anyone supporting Joe Biden and his decision to precipitous withdraw of U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Biden delivered a speech in which he blamed former President Donald Trump for the dire situation unfolding in the region.

Biden claimed, “When I came to office, I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor — which he invited the Taliban to discuss at Camp David on the eve of 9/11 of 2019 — that left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001 and imposed a May 1, 2021 deadline on U.S. Forces.”

Biden added, “Shortly before he left office, he also drew U.S. Forces down to a bare minimum of 2,500.”

MSNBC co-host Nicole Wallace defended Biden by saying, “95 percent of the American people will agree with everything [Biden] just said.”

Co-host Brian Williams chimed in by claiming Biden “didn’t run from it, he owned it, he owned his decision, he owned the fact that as he put it, the buck stops with him.”

This is when Army veteran Matt Zeller set the record straight.

Zeller responded, “I feel like I watched a different speech than the rest of you guys.”

“I was appalled,” Zeller said. “There was such a profound bald-faced lie in that speech. The idea we planned for every contingency?”

“I have been personally trying to tell this administration since it took office. I have been trying to tell our government for years this was coming. We sent them plan after plan on how to evacuate these people. Nobody listened to us,” Zeller said.

“These are our people. We made these people a promise. The Taliban are now actively killing them. And if we don’t take them they’re gonna die,” Zeller said. “We have the means to do this. We have simply lacked this entire time the courage and conviction to do the right thing. And I’m not gonna sit and listen to a president I voted for—I was happy this man took office—I’m now appalled at that speech.”

“I’m not gonna sit here and have him lie to the American people. We did not plan as a government for this contingency. The American people, the advocates who have been pleading with the government have been planning for it,” he continued. “I’m not going to let them get away with this.”

Watch the clip:

Matt Zeller, former Army lieutenant, is strong Biden supporter. But he was appalled by @POTUS speech. He has direct knowledge of the heroism of so many Afghans. His interpreter saved his life. Afghan military often fought without food or pay —because of faith in America. THIS⬇️ https://t.co/wm0CMbsy5P

— Christina Sommers (@CHSommers) August 17, 2021

More from Townhall:

Zeller explained how an interpreter saved his own life 13 years ago and said he’ll “never forgive” America for abandoning them now. “If we don’t [rescue them], no one is ever gonna trust us again and people like me are going to come home in bodybags.”

His organization, No One Left Behind, helps wartime allies get to the U.S. and achieve the American Dream.

“These are our people. We made these people a promise. The Taliban are now actively killing them. And if we don’t take them they’re gonna die,” Zeller said. “We have the means to do this. We have simply lacked this entire time the courage and conviction to do the right thing. And I’m not gonna sit and listen to a president I voted for—I was happy this man took office—I’m now appalled at that speech.

The Biden administration’s failure to understand the movement of the Taliban and provide effective preparation with the Afghan government has had horrifying consequences.

U.S. troops have been under fire, at least twice, while at Kabul’s Karzai International Airport, the NY Post reports.

“Thousands of Afghans have been filmed desperately chasing after and clinging to a US Air Force plane as it taxied down the runway — with multiple people plunging to their deaths after the aircraft took off in the frantic attempt to flee the country after the Taliban takeover,” the report adds.

Trump has called on Biden to resign from office “in disgrace.”

“What Joe Biden has done with Afghanistan is legendary,” Trump said. “It will go down as one of the greatest defeats in American history!”

“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy,” Trump said.

Trump released a statement over the situation in Afghanistan:

“Joe Biden gets it wrong every time on foreign policy, and many other issues. Everyone knew he couldn’t handle the pressure. Even Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, said as much.”

“He ran out of Afghanistan instead of following the plan our Administration left for him — a plan that protected our people and our property, and ensured the Taliban would never dream of taking our Embassy or providing a base for new attacks against America. The withdrawal would be guided by facts on the ground.”

“After I took out ISIS, I established a credible deterrent. That deterrent is now gone. The Taliban no longer has fear or respect for America, or America’s power.”

Trump concluded, “What a disgrace it will be when the Taliban raises their flag over America’s Embassy in Kabul. This is complete failure through weakness, incompetence, and total strategic incoherence.”

Well. The US is a world leader and has been for decades.

When things go sideways in another part of the world it is members of the US military that go there. At no cost to anyone.

The Afghani version of the 82nd Airborne is nowhere to be found.

I’d you look at what Afghanistan was like in the 60s and 70s you’ll see that it had a chance to maintain a place in the civilized world.

They chose to remain 12th century savages.

So I’m ok with being in my cushy home.

I’d be willing to bet that NOT ONE Democrat voter changes their mind.

I guess I’m an optimist, because I think that’s going to change.

There are not only thousands of our allies trapped in Afghanistan, but thousands of Americans.

Biden had NO PLAN to vet and transport the allies, and doesn’t seem to even have a plan to get our nationals out.

Dear friends, neighbors, co-workers and kin that voted for Biden:

Say out loud that you voted for Biden. Say it now to everyone you meet, every day.

Say it!

I’m not arguing that one bit.

But, as I’ve commented on other threads, at what point do any, some or all of these people take some personal responsibility and get themselves out weeks ago.

Realizing that I don’t think anyone could have predicted that Taliban would just stroll right in like they did, but they have been taking over the country for some time now. The writing was on the wall.

This President orders everyone in Bagram to leave in the middle of the night and they don’t even talk to the Afghanis about it. That’s a clue.

My point is, he voted for this. He can passionately vent about the betrayal as loud and long as he wants, but he VOTED for it.

I voted for President Mean Tweets.

Really? I’ll let the spell checker know.

I can hardly see an iPhone screen let alone type on one.

Couldn’t possibly get by without your keen proof reading skills. Good for you to have something you’re good at to contribute. Keeps you busy and all that.

Thanks so much.

Voted for Biden. Strong supporter. It’s time for some to admit and it pains me to say that the current feeble ole weirdo at the helm was probably legitimately elected. Yes I know there was fraud but I’m saying he would have won anyway because Americans by and large, well let’s just say they are not deep thinkers.

Doesn’t invalidate my point about some of them possibly being taliban plants. Who is vetting them? So we just welcome them all without finding out who they are and seed them all over our country?

Sure there are folks who helped us and need our help, and hopefully those folks and their families are being rescued because they’ve been positively IDENTIFIED as allies. But hope isn’t a plan.

This was a clusterf#ck of major proportion and we will be dealing with the fallout for a long time.

I’m speaking of those that sacrificed to fight for their liberty from those that wish to do the country harm. We’ve assisted their military in theatre and 50,000 have died in 7 years. You don’t cut and run the way we did and you ween them off our dependence before you bail. Their entire military infrastructure was built upon a dependence of our air, logistical and intelligence assets. You cut any of those without contingencies in place you’ve signed their death sentence. We’ve successfully helped build many democracies around the world, Germany, South Korea, Japan; and many to our benefit. However, within the last 60 years it’s like we’ve forgotten how to accomplish any of that. I’m gobsmacked at the disaster that we’ve created over the last 20 years in Afghanistan. Our leaders are awful.

The guy is a Deep State propagandist doing an interview on a radical leftist cable news program. I never heard of the dope before yesterday, and after listening to him say how happy he was to vote for Biden I knew I would be better off listening to a dog bark.

P.S. — Do an internet search on the guy and read his bio. He’s just another Beltway jerk who has never worked a real job in his life. He’s probably outraged at the collapse of U.S. forces in Afghanistan because his gravy train as a “security consultant” is coming to an end.

Excellent post!

I think the Democrats have done it again........speaking of Saigon, 1974. How many Vietnamese, loyal to America, were murdered by the Democrat’s Communist ally, Ho Chi Minh?

Democrat’s these days not only love Communists (Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot, Che Guevara) they NOW ARE, in many cases, self admitted and proud Communists.

On another note, the Pentagon has demonstrated again, euphemistically speaking, that it is worthless and does more harm than good. It should be vacated, demolished with it’s foundation excavated and hauled off and replaced with corn fields. A radically diminished, necessary/essential staff should be housed in commercial office buildings around the country because too much self aggrandizing mischief goes on in the hallways and conference rooms of the Pentagon.
