Assessing the Taliban victory

[...]

After decades in Afghanistan, America has been defeated by Muslim fanatics equipped primarily with small arms and Toyotas.

...

The failure to destroy arms, equipment and facilities was another fail, indeed a gift to the Taliban and the global [https://www.dni.gov/nctc/groups.html] jihad.

As the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, Afghanistan is likely, again, to become a haven for jihadists in South Asia.

No principal at the National Security Council, Department of State, or Pentagon will be fired or relieved. The 9/11 precedent abides: flag officers who enabled that fail were decorated, celebrated, and promoted.

The small wars fiction, the so-called “war on terror,” [https://www.reuters.com/article/us-afghanistan-conflict-usa-sullivan/u-s-laser-focused-on-potential-for-terrorist-attack-by-taliban-foes-says-security-adviser-idUSKBN2FK2E5] will abide; emphasizing the tactical sectarian ghettos of Islam; the Taliban, Hezb’allah, Hamas, al Qaeda, and ISIS instead of the strategic global threat: state-sponsored imperial Islam.

Sunni Arabs and Shite Persians will continue to finance [https://www.france24.com/en/20120929-how-saudi-arabia-petrodollars-finance-salafist-winter-islamism-wahhabism-egypt] and enable Islamist politics and the global jihad with impunity.

..

Islamofascism [https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2007/10/defending-the-term-islamofascism.html] will continue to be rationalized by America as unrepresentative of the larger Muslim demographic.

The United States and Europe will absorb unvetted Muslim refugees fleeing Afghanistan.

Taliban won for one reason..... we did not use the weaponry we have to defeat them. That is all.

Dishonorable incompetent leaders surround themselves with the same low type of men. They hate competent men of honor like the devil hates holy water.

They have no honor. Nobody will resign. It's a national disgrace.

We did not win, true.
We tried to section off, parcel out combatants. (The people of Texas don’t act like the people of Massachusetts, so we hit them.)
We unoficially declared war on a theocracy that does not recognize any national boundaries, other than what has been conquered, or not.
We tried money, trade, expressions of freedom, to a mindset that has never conceptualized what freedom is.
We reared back from winning their hearts and minds or burning their village down.
Historically, govermental armies have never actually won in wars against tribal factions. They gave up, and settled for some fashion of a treaty. America cannot fathom a path of total extinction as an answer.

Those old enough to remember or history peeps see this as exactly viet nam again.

Just throw in the towel for politics. Soldiers’ lives be damned. It. Was. A. Political. Decision. To. Lose.

We chose to lose.

Historically governments did not have the weapons we have that can destroy tribal warriors. “Oh they hide in the mountains”. But we both know we could still kill them there easily if we chose to.

We were not defeated by the Taliban. We were defeated by their Democrat and RINO allies.

We still, iirc, manufacture napalm.
Some time ago, I suggested a late night well-timed criss cross flight of all pockets of resistance delivering napalm. No time to alert the other pockets.
At least there would be no lingering messes, like the Soviet’s use of bioweapons.

This fact describes most of the dynamic in DC. Some people think that there is a deeper agenda at play. Could be, but I doubt it. The agenda in DC is the deep state conspiracy of incompetents to keep themselves in positions of power and influence. These folks smell each other out. They recognize their kind across a parking lot. They make league with each other. They speak a common language of indecipherable manageobabble gobbledygook.
