What did he do?
I was a Cruz supporter early on, and even gave him money, which I now regret. I was worried about Trump’s sudden appearance and the possibility that his candidacy was a publicity stunt that would interfere with the serious candidates.
That all changed for me with Iowa and what the Cruz campaign did to shaft Ben Carson under the leadership of the low-life deep state operative Jeff Roe.
I began to see Trump in a better light, and came to the eventual realization that he was the only one who could beat Hillary.
I remember the atmosphere here as roving mobs of Cruz supporters went from thread to thread figuratively screaming at any Trump advocate (e.g. Libby Lu).
When I think of Cruz, the word oleaginous comes to mind, and that applies even more today, an oily, slippery politician in the worst sense of the word.
I am not in the least surprised by what Cruz said.

I was a supporter of Ted Cruz in the 2016 primary, UNTIL the time when Trump was in the lead, and had a rally in Chicago. Antifa terrorists attacked Trump supporters leaving the rally. Cruz borrowed the Dem/MSM talking point that (paraphrasing) “Trump’s rhetoric caused this vicious violence.”
So lame!! If Trump had not been in the race, and Cruz was in the polling lead, these same Antifa idiot terrorists would have attacked Cruz’s rally! And the Dem MSM would say the same thing about him.
Cruz’s willingness to parrot MSM lies when it’s convenient for him did it for me.
