I have not heard anyone in the media, talk about opposing homosexual marriage in years.
Just an observation, that conservatives have given up on the issue.
Perhaps it’s because there are many other issues on which we can have influence in public policy? Is it because homosexual marriage has been imposed and there is no realistic way to undo it?
Plenty of conservatives have not given up and will not give up. The media may not cover us. But we are here.
The job of many established conservative institutions is to conserve the latest insane leftist policy.
They have become part of the problem instead of part of the solution.
What issue haven’t they given up on? I can’t think of one. There are frass roots pro-lifers, but the majority of conservative media probably thinks it’s bad to even talk about abortion. From taxes to abortion I don’t thimk there is a condervative issue anymore.
I still keenly remember when the push was for a federal marriage amendment in the late 1990, which had a LOT of conservative momentum. Our RINO overlords said that that extreme remedy shouldn't be tried "until out-of-control courts forced the issue."
Well, here we are, and mums the word.
I think we should call on them to keep their promise. There are plenty of soundbytes to use as ammo.
i havent given up. Fags are gross.
“I have not heard anyone in the media, talk about opposing homosexual marriage in years. Just an observation, that conservatives have given up on the issue.”
Yep, they won, by WEARING US DOWN. Now they’re doing the same to us to access our kids. Question: Will we fight them? Given our record on social issues, we might as well drive our kids down to the sex-change clinic.
I have heard few conservatives arguing against Social Security or Medicare over the past few decades.
Giving a secular government administrative authority over marriage is like having the government give out bar mitzvah certificates.
“Is it because homosexual marriage has been imposed and there is no realistic way to undo it?”
Well, that was the case with abortion in 1970, but that didn’t stop us. So there is something else going on.
For one, the churches, for whatever reason, seem loathe to carry the banner on this issue. Second, there seems to be less moral outrage in the general public over homosexuality than there was over abortion. So if the churches don’t take the lead, and the public is not outraged enough to start a grassroots movement, then who will lead the charge?
