The new GOP-controlled House majority is considering expunging former President Trump's two impeachments.
"We’d look at it," House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told the Washington Times.
The California Republican suggested Trump should never have been impeached by the Democrat-control House over his 2016 presidential campaign allegedly having have colluded with Russia.
“When you find that the final information of the Russia document is all a lie, and we watch what he went through, I would understand why members would want to bring that forward,” Mr. McCarthy said.
According to the Washington Times, dozens of Republicans support reviving a resolution to expunge the impeachment charges that were filed by the last congress.
If passed, the matter would have then go to the Democrat-controlled Senate where its chances of passage are unlikely.

The dems used the power of the government against a political opponent. They created a false narrative which was eagerly spread by their operatives in the media.

Don’t courts overturn convictions when new evidence shows the defendant is actually innocent? Why should an impeachment stand when the verdict of the House was based on fraudulent evidence?

If they want to expunge something, the original J6 committee was wholly a House function, and its membership was legally questionable.

I don’t think there’s anything in the Constitution that says an impeachment can’t be expunged. The Senate has already acted on the impeachments by acquitting him both times. I don’t think they would have any further role since only the House can bring articles of impeachment. If the present House believes the articles were groundless, why shouldn’t they be able to withdraw them? To me it’s worth a try.
