Rep. Matt Gaetz on Wednesday questioned whether the U.S. military is facing a purposeful “recruiting collapse” because of the Biden administration’s embrace of left-wing wokeism in racial and sexual issues.
“America’s top military leaders have brought misery to almost every part of the globe they have touched,” the Fort Walton Beach Republican told Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, citing military flubs such as allowing Iran to operate in Iraq with attacks on U.S. troops, arming ISIS goons in Syria, and handing Afghanistan to the Taliban with deaths of U.S. troops and no reprisal.

Our boys would have loved to have followed their father’s lead and join the Marines. But that’s off the table since we don’t want them getting a woke indoctrination.

I’m trying to imagine joining the military today, with Biden and these America last misfits in command...
The military I loved and lived is gone. Flushed. Even though my career was wonderful and led to another even greater career after retirement, I’ve NOT recommended the new Woke-ilitary to any youngster asking. Do not doubt for a moment that our woke generals would not hesitate turning that military against you. (They’ll have to since their chances of winnning any conflict in the future are equal to Biden’s chance of passing a forth grade IQ test.)
It’s not just DEI - the problem is multi-faceted. A really big part that I hear quite often is that people don’t want to go overseas for military missions that are questionable.
Does the average young man in the South really care about training one corrupt army to fight another corrupt army when it’s really about an Exxon oil lease? They tell you its about fighting ISIS or AQ, but is it really?
The “fight” is more about “business interests” that are important to people with money and the politicians they give it to.
I am a veteran from a military family and I would NOT recommend that my kids join up. I felt differently 10 years ago, but the war on terror has left me with a mouth full of ash and heartburn. What a tragic waste for us and them.

I joined the Marines to prove to myself that I had what it took.
Now we allow openly-serving homosexuals, trannies, and every sort of mental defective in, and now they think that young women should be combat troops and any meathead that can keep out of trouble for long enough should command regiments and divisions.
Why, exactly should any normal young man join now?
My dad was a WW2 Marine veteran. He got called back during the Korean War. I kicked around joining...but liked surfing and chicks too much.

Old Navy here...do you think the Pentagon is even aware that the NHL is reversing their “pride” efforts because they can’t sell tickets to those games??? Could it be that those young men who are rejecting the rainbow are exactly the demographic target audience for military recruitment? Duh!

I told the same to my nephew and his 3 best friends. One of the boys was thinking about it, and I told him NO - not with this woke, racist/anti-white, forced vax, tranny BS and neocon global war-mongering going on.
I told an Army recruiter I met - you are working 9-5, 5 days a week to recruit young men. But there's more and more people out there, 24/7, 365 days a year telling the same young men to avoid the military and Fed.gov while its in the hands of woke-leftists. You've got an impossible job.
He just shook his head and walked away.
All of my friends and relatives served in Nam. You assholes lost a war that was on the verge of a win.
