The terrorists posted the video and threatened, “We haven’t started yet.” This after dozens of rockets launched from Gaza by Hamas and Islamic Jihad Terrorists hit Israeli targets earlier today and over the past several days. Israeli Defense Forces have responded to defend Israelis with attacks hitting inside Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has avoided convening the security cabinet in advance of the commencement of the IDF’s “Operation Shield and Arrow,” which began during the early hours of Tuesday morning with a series of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip after consultations with senior defense officials and with the approval of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.
Deliberations on the operation, which targeted three senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commanders, were held on Friday at the Shin Bet’s headquarters with Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi, along with other senior IDF and security officials.
The Basic Law on the Government states that the ministerial forum is only required to meet if deciding to declare war, or during a military operation where the probability of it leading to war is almost certain. Security officials determined that the scope of fighting following the IDF’s assassination of Islamic Jihad commanders and their response would be limited. Therefore, the attorney general approved the decision that the operation was solely in the hands of the prime minister and defense minister.
