From a Twitter user:

"Amazing. Federal indictments and trials get dragged out years. Not in Trumps case. The deep state wants him eliminated through this coup as quickly as possible"

This is indeed unprecedented. The defense won't have time to plan to defend Trump.

I'm not sure what I would read into this.

It would seem almost certain that there would be adjournments and delays that could stretch a case like this out for 2-3 years.

The defense won't have time to plan to defend Trump.

The right to a speedy trial is protected under the U.S. Constitution. That isn't intended to help the prosecution.

This should thrill Trump supporters who were complaining it’d be during the height of the campaign in Summer 2024. Now by 2024, it will be over and trump can campaign. Win win for all.

The prosecution can't have it both ways. If Trump was forced to take custody of the documents and now they want to say they aren't his, the case is closed.

“The defense won’t have time to plan to defend Trump.”

That’s the whole idea. I read that it usually takes an average of 11 months from indictment to trial in federal cases. Smith did say he wanted a speedy trial, but he left out the part he really wants, “a speedy execution”.

.
They keep going to a magistrate that has said he has disdain for Trump.

It’s all a setup.

A non biased Judge should by all rights step in and declare blatant election interference - the interference is so blatant that it reeks to high heaven- woudl be nice if it happens- but of course it won’t-

[[The defense won’t have time to plan to defend Trump.]]

Correction- the defense won’t be allowed to defend him no matter what- He’s already been denied the right to defend himself in previous impeachments- and there is talk it is gonna happen here too

There is absolutely no chance that this trial will start on August 14th.

They know they’ll likely lose this case (being in Florida) and so they need to start up the slam-dunk case, which is Jan 6th in DC.

The Bland Meatball Fans here are hoping Trump gets convicted thinking
Ronnie will swoop in and inherit Trump voters.
Ronnie will not inherit Trump voters.
I will write in Trumps name on the ballot if need be.
The main result if Trump is convicted is the bottom will drop out for
GOP support.

Trumps attorneys should be able to ask for a continuance of the trial date.

Judge Cannon is famously a Trump appointee.

I am not so sure that having the trial so soon is something the deep state wanted. The case is legally absurd and ought be dismissed on its face.

The case against trump is pretty nonsensical so it’s probably better to get it over with as soon as possible.

Yep, even simple cases typically take 2-3 years.

It seems like every case I recall concerning classified documents, a damage assessment has to be conducted, and that might take years if there are as many documents as they claim. Look at Julian Assange. He was indicted four years ago, and is still fighting extradition. Bradley Manning was arrested in May 2010 and went to trial THREE years later.
