A Virus That Has A Death Rate Of 40 To 75 Percent Is Infecting And Killing People In India
End of the American Dream ^ | Michael Snyder

For years, the World Health Organization has considered the Nipah virus to be a “priority pathogen” because it has the potential to cause a worldwide pandemic. Thankfully, up to this point that has not happened, but now an outbreak in India is making headlines all over the globe. Two victims have already died, and there are four others that have tested positive. A five kilometer containment zone has been established around the homes of the two men that died, and schools and businesses in the region are being forced to shut down. Authorities are hoping that such extreme measures will stop this outbreak before it can really get going. But as you will see below, that may not be so easy.

According to the CDC, this virus was initially discovered in Asia in 1999. Since that time there have been other outbreaks, and during those outbreaks there have been cases of human to human transmission…

Nipah virus (NiV) was first discovered in 1999 following an outbreak of disease in pigs and people in Malaysia and Singapore. This outbreak resulted in nearly 300 human cases and more than 100 deaths, and caused substantial economic impact as more than 1 million pigs were killed to help control the outbreak.

I have friends who have been to India. I hear it is filthy overall. It is a wonder that a higher percentage of people don’t die from something fast there.

All the viruses and germs cancel each other out.

1999-“This outbreak resulted in nearly 300 human cases and more than 100 deaths, and caused substantial economic impact as more than 1 million pigs were killed to help control the outbreak.”
Seems the rate should have been much higher with the reported mortality rate, especially in India????

From what I’m observing out there, there are as many Non-Native American Indians illegally sneaking into America these days than there are Mexicans. This part of Texas is seeing a lot more of them than it saw a year ago. Easily identified. They all wear “I Go to College” sweatshirts.

Hey, let's cause a worldwide panic!

A somewhat obtuse but very clever post.

Thanks.

“My husband flew to India for business - he said it was the filthiest thing he had ever seen. People would squat and defecate on the sidewalk right in front of you, dogs running everywhere”

Compare with US. cities where people run everywhere and dogs squat and defecate on the sidewalk right in front of you.

I used to connect through the Delhi airport, overnighting at cheap Indian transit hotels. One time there was a scraggly cow in the pickup area. The hotels were OK; it wasn’t worth it to stay in a Western hotel at 6x the cost for a few hours sleep.

Only once did I stay there for 3 days at a friend’s place in a suburb. It was like cheap Western standards. I walked from store to store in the 120 degree weather.

Now Kabul, that’s dirty, but even it has upscale areas.

Anyone who’s ever been to India (as I have) isn’t even slightly surprised by this.In fact...I’m astounded that this kind of thing doesn’t happen there daily.

It wasn’t that obtuse as my posts go. Did you catch my sacracatic critique of the present false irenicism where the Styx runs into the Tiber?

What are the odds. While Gundog and I both hold Mr. K in high esteem, I would never have pegged him as a Freeper, let alone a Freeper from 1999.

Perhaps there are two Mr. K’s.

Standard treatment for any virus:

Ivermectin
Hydroxychloroquine
Vitamin D

These were Dr. Zelenko’s last words before his untimely death.

What’ll be worrysome on any disease are the combination of these factors:

(1) How deadly? i.e, what’s the IFR?
(2) Are any certain segments of the population, such as infants or seniors or obese or other factors, at more serious risk of higher IFR?
(3) How easily does it spread by someone who doesn’t have strong symptoms? I’m no fan of Ebola, but definitely prefer having something being just contagious when a person is super ill, as this makes contact tracing much easier.

Our worst nightmare would be a very contagious (when asymptomatic) disease that has a very high IFR for the general population.
