You will notice the Joe Biden percentage of voters (38%) doesn’t change when Robert Kennedy Jr. is added to the equation as a third-party independent candidate. However, the Trump support drops from 40% to 38%, essentially wiping out the lead that President Trump would hold in a general election over Joe Biden.
Given the intellectually honest assessment that RFK Jr., as an independent run, could never win the general election, it may annoy some people to accept his decision to run as an independent only carries one motive – to reduce the Trump vote. However, as much as you may not want to accept that reality, the data is clear – and it makes sense.
Many right-leaning or politically homeless Trump voters have spent a great deal of time celebrating the positions of RFK Jr. and projecting a positive opinion toward him. After thinking positively about him for so long, having to accept that RFK Jr. may not be as decent, honorable and/or altruistic in his intentions can be a painful admission. I get it; but the reality of the situation doesn’t change.
At CTH we accept things as they are, not as we would wish them to be. Cognitive dissonance is not appreciated here, and the reality is that RFK Jr. has a large following of supporters within the MAGA-hood. He has been talked-up for almost a year.

This must be really bad for Biden or they would not even talk about it.
I also like his views on free-speech and forever wars abroad. That will attract some possible Trump voters also.
But RJF Jr. has bathsh** crazy ideas on environment, energy and climate change. He was a main proponent of closing of NY's perfectly fine Indian Point nuclear plant which provided 25% of NY City's electricity. RFK Jr. would only be slightly better than FJB, but not by much.
This poll isn’t accurate, because it doesn’t include all of the minor political party candidates as well as any other possible Independent candidates for POTUS (We don’t know, exactly, who that is, yet).
Is this the way that they will try to explain the next election steal in 2024? In reality RFK will hurt Biden, period.

So let me get this straight..RFK Jr, yeah he seems like a good dude and all, but he is a leftist, his ONLY claim to fame right now is that he is anti vax, so a Trump supporter is going to say “OK, yeah he’s pro climate green new deal agenda, yeah he’s pro abortion..but he hates the vaccine so let me throw my vote away and give it to biden” mind as well vote for Joe Biden, he’s basically Biden without the vaccine love..so what, RFK Jr hates the vaccine, fine, I hate it too, Im not going to throw away my freakin vote because that is the ONE thing we agree on, the ONLY thing

He’s a democRAT. Never ever vote for a democRat. I don’t understand why any Trump supporter would vote for any climate cult democRat.
RFK, Jr.’s positions are largely unknown. Anti-Trumpers and some indies like what they know of him. Wait until he’s fully known.
And, another just released poll from Echelon Insights shows the opposite effect, costing Biden votes.
Who knows how things will break when Joe drops (falls) out, or is committed to hospice, which is a lock.
If RFK Jr was hurting Trump then he’d be on every news station giving interviews .
yeah so I just dont see it happening..I dont see Trump supporters who maybe are upset at Trump for being pro vaccine, fine, he is, he is proud of the vaccine, but to throw that all away and vote for a gun who wants to take your guns away, wants the green new deal implemented, and is pro abort..thats basically just throwing every single thing you believe in down the toilet because of ONE issue, ONE

He’s not even declared yet. Probably should wait till he actually gets into the race and see what the polls say.
There is a VERY large contingent of voters who wouldn’t vote for Joe Biden at the point of a gun, but are sick of the Trump side show. It’s bigger than you think it is.
That’s why Trump needs Bobby on the ticket. JFK did not like LBJ either but they balanced the ticket NE Liberal and Texas hound dog.
