Members of Congress attended a screening Tuesday of the Israeli military’s footage of the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7 and many of the elected officials were deeply moved by the experience, according to the Jewish Insider.
The 46-minute film compiled by the Israeli military contains body cam and CCTV footage, as well as pictures from social media and victims’ phones, showing the brutal murder of hundreds of Israeli civilians that day. Many elected officials were silent, some crying at the film’s conclusion and Democratic Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington left only minutes after it began in tears, according to the Jewish Insider.
“This morning I viewed the horrific footage of Hamas killing, torturing, and kidnapping Israeli civilians,” Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens of Michigan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’m gutted. This is barbarism and an attack on all humanity. We cannot let this ever happen again and we must never forget.”
The film, which the Daily Caller News Foundation had the opportunity to see, shows Hamas killing civilians in their cars, homes and bomb shelters. Many clips included in the film show the terrorists cheering over dead bodies and celebrating the attacks. One Hamas operative calls his parents and tells his father to open WhatsApp to “see how many [Jews] I killed with my bare hands.”
Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters Tuesday that the auditorium where the screening was held was so quiet “you could have heard a pin drop,” according to The Hill.
“We had a large group of Republican and Democrat House members in the auditorium this morning, and you could have heard a pin drop — except for the sighs and the cries in the room because the video would make anyone with a soul cry,” Johnson said.

Does anyone have a link to the film? After all, if it’s important enough for Congresscritters to see because it’ll impact their views and votes, wouldn’t that also apply to us mere citizens?

This makes me wonder about the Holocaust. I was born shortly after the War.
In my small Southern school in the fifties, I NEVER heard anything about the War or ESPECIALLY about the Holocaust, the concentration camps, the Jews in Germany. Nothing. It was not until i was in my twenties before I knew anything. People, parents, teachers, neighbors, no one talked of the war or the Holocaust. My sister who is 3 yrs behind agrees with me: nothing.
Was this true in the rest of USA?

I was born in 1958. All I knew about Nazi Germany was watching Hogan’s Heroes.
So... Nothing.
There were a lot of families of victims of the Nazi atrocities. It was showing what the allies found upon liberating the camps that raised “never again” in the public consciousness and showed what evil depraved pigs the nazis were. And the public needs to see these hamas atrocities in graphic detail to see what evil pigs they are. If this had been done to the arabs by Jews, the media wouldn’t have graphic images 24/7.

No. Born in 1946 and while growing up in the 50s had looked through a book of photos from the Holocaust. The mass graves, the tangles of dead naked bodies, the works. All was available to those who were willing to see. Of course my father was in WW II and the postwar occupation, so it was all close to us.
The only people who didn’t know this were in Congress.
My 3 month trip to Israel in ‘98 told me all I needed to know.
You would think that 911 would have educated USA voters.
