“I guess all of us booger eating troglodyte ICE lovers are not as smart as you early EV adopters. We must be lacking something.”
Gullibility.
“Put a $5/gal federal green tax on gas and then EV sales will go through the roof.”
Get everyone on electricity, a monopolistic enterprise, and watch electricity go through the roof. That 12.5 cents average will be 50 cents overnight.
You could seee this coming with every bit of info coming out of GM on their EV sales and problems.
luckily, I saw the signs coming and sold my GM stock a couple of weeks ago.
You’re right. And the result is repairs cost more now, too.
The problem with GM is their technology offerings lag behind Tesla. The Bolt has been a disaster with various battery recalls and the car’s DC fast charging is woefully inadequate at 55KWH which limits it strictly as a commuter car. If I were looking for an EV, GM wouldn’t be near the top of the list even with their new delayed offerings...

There is more than just shrinkage but they don’t want to admit a mistake. People are by nature lazy. And they do not want to deal with checking out and bagging a full cart of groceries so they buy as few as they need to.”
Perhaps but here’s a report on self-checkout shrinkage.
BTW, I worked my way through highschool and some in college checking/stocking/sacking groceries. That was before barcodes, etc.
“Still, as self-checkout adoption continues to grow in food retailing as well as other retail sectors, the question of its susceptibility to shrink may not be entirely resolved. In the 2006 Retail Shrink Survey, conducted by the National Retail Research Group, Scottsdale, Ariz. (www.retailcontrol.com), 73% of respondents said that total store shrink increased by an average of 3% since the installation of self-checkout, an average of $18,000 annually per store. The survey, released last month, queried 108 supermarket companies representing 26,820 stores, mostly in the U.S.”

I suppose the same mentality as those in years gone by...that must have a Lincoln...
I’m sure the shrinkage did increase. But it is not as much a worry as the difference between a manned checkout and self check out per hour. A manned checkout can process three times the volume of product and gross sales per hour than a self checkout can. So it is actually cheaper to hire a checker per hour because of the volume offset.
They really didn’t think it through before they decided to change over to self checkout. For both reasons... Shrinkage and loss of product volume per hour.
Darn it, I wanted to see how many minutes it would be to go from 0 to 60.. 🤓
The 0 to 60 speed wouldn’t be a problem with an EV Vette. Rather I would think the Vette wouldn’t be a collectors item like it is now.
General Motors should face a class action shareholder lawsuit for pissing away all this money on a leftist/WEF fantasy.
Any CEO that didn’t see this coming is incompetent and a threat to shareholder value.
Not surprised. Her plans to switch to all EVs and eliminate gasoline powered cars by 2035 across GM was a very rash decision. It wasn’t based on market research, consumer demand, or anything else. It was all politics. She really ought to be fired from GM. But then why should I care? I’m never buying a UAW produced vehicle ever again. I buy Toyota now. And Toyota has had it right from the get-go.
correct
They’ll force us to buy EVs either in 2030 or 2035.
