General Motors (GM) faces an unprecedented EV crisis as CEO Mary Barra unexpectedly halts EV production and scraps most electric plans. This abrupt move has reverberated across the automotive landscape. The primary reason? A significant lack of demand. Dealerships are overwhelmed with nearly 92,000 unsold EVs, posing a daunting challenge.

Sounds like reality just b*tch slapped GM.

“Do current owners give much thought to what kind of allowance they might expect for a trade in?”
By and large, it seems, the answer seems to be, No.
They are affluent and are exercising their taste for the exotic.
Reminds me of the front wheel drive K and E bodies in the early 1980s.
They sold poorly. But not enough to halt production.
I’ve said Mary Barra is Roger Smith in a pantsuit. But she is actually worse.
At least they decided to cut their losses now and not a year from now when it would have been even worse. Their losses would have eventually been passed on to all of us in one form or another. Hopefully this will provide cover for the other automakers to follow them.
I wish Tesla would do what's right...and give up the EV business.
Give them away. Take before and after pics of the happy owners.
Consumer capitalism at its finest. May EVs rot in hell.
Just because Democrats want to pass laws and force everybody into their ideal society, doesn’t mean the technology or will of the people is there to do it.
Did not some states outlaw ICE cars and Trucks in a few years? Let them eat dirt and bugs.
reality bites. give thanks.
Go Woke, Go Broke.
If they hadn't listened to the hardcore Liberals on their board, in HR, Legal, and management in general, they might have just worked on their EV technology, building some small but expandable production capacity, and developed some good vehicles in anticipation of future EV demand growth.
But Noooo...they had to prove to the world that they are Woke by jumping into the EVs business with both feet.
Here come the subsidies pouring into automakers pocket.
Listen and you can hear it.
Seems like we need more government involvement. Surely, if DC throws another $50,000 at each one of those unsold EVs, we can come up with a solution.
No problem, a restructuring bailout mo from us.
Their business model.
I have actually thought about buying a gently used 2019 Chevy Volt.
53 mile battery range, 4-cyl engine and a 9 gallon gasoline tank for about ~360 mile gasoline-only range.
The 2019 models have a complete software refresh and are the best of the run.
It still has a lithium-ion battery, however, so it would live outside.
I’m hoping the bird and ocean life killing wind turbines will follow suit and be abandoned.
But it (forcing ev’s on the public) is such a wonderful plan. If only we could find the right person to implement it. /S
Mary Barra was the delusional female pimp for these EV clown cars. Just last year or so.
As in #metoo as in women never lie
it’s been a suck-up to Biden and his goobermint.
Biden’s subsidies are to blame.
