"General Motors (GM) faces an unprecedented EV crisis as CEO Mary Barra unexpectedly halts EV production and scraps most electric plans. This abrupt move has reverberated across the automotive landscape. The primary reason? A significant lack of demand."
Perhaps every potential customer that wanted or could afford an EV has already acquired one and is now tasked with the job of convincing everyone else how wonderful they are. Do current owners give much thought to what kind of allowance they might expect for a trade in?

At least they decided to cut their losses now and not a year from now when it would have been even worse. Their losses would have eventually been passed on to all of us in one form or another. Hopefully this will provide cover for the other automakers to follow them.

People are wising up. The problem remains...the government subsidies and the government forcing sales for government workers, school buses...
I wish Tesla would do what's right...and give up the EV business.

Just because Democrats want to pass laws and force everybody into their ideal society, doesn’t mean the technology or will of the people is there to do it.
Did not some states outlaw ICE cars and Trucks in a few years? Let them eat dirt and bugs.

GM and Ford abandoned the time-honored rule of good management--"let customer demand drive our business"--in favor of their version of Wokeness (EVs).
Go Woke, Go Broke.
If they hadn't listened to the hardcore Liberals on their board, in HR, Legal, and management in general, they might have just worked on their EV technology, building some small but expandable production capacity, and developed some good vehicles in anticipation of future EV demand growth.
But Noooo...they had to prove to the world that they are Woke by jumping into the EVs business with both feet.

I have actually thought about buying a gently used 2019 Chevy Volt.
53 mile battery range, 4-cyl engine and a 9 gallon gasoline tank for about ~360 mile gasoline-only range.
The 2019 models have a complete software refresh and are the best of the run.
It still has a lithium-ion battery, however, so it would live outside.

This is how true change comes about and we need more of this. Just because they say you have to buy something doesn’t mean you have to buy it. Don’t let the consumerism brainwashing affect you and just say no...
Another recent win is resistance to self checkout, enough stood their ground and refused to use it so now they are removing them and putting checkers back to work. If you want to win this country back this is how it will be done.
Just say no with your dollars. :)

The fact that they were stupid enough to even add EVs to their product line is crazy. WE knew that EVs aren’t practical, logical, environmentally positive, or user friendly. How could major auto manufacturers NOT know?
Good for GM. Maybe they can donate the unsold inventory to the homeless.
