I bird sitted for a friend on summer. Spent hrs teaching it to say. Make love to Lucy. One week after returning the bird she let it out the back door to never be seen again.

There was a real a-hole that had a pet shop...mostly birds...in town. I was in there on time and noticed a smoke alarm low battery chirp going amid the cacophony of other bird calls. It was about every minute, just like you’d expect. It took me a while to find the culprit. I wonder if someone tried to rehome their bird after it picked up that annoying habit.
Some time later, I got the idea to call the a-holes store phone after hours, and just let it ring. Apparently there was something preventing that.
