The one you are probably thinking of happened in Las Vegas. Same composites of victims and youth. They beat him to death.
I think there was a similar incident in Las Vegas. The victim died helping out another student. I believe in that case; a perp claimed the second student assulted him first when intervening.
As you recall, in the Parkview shooting, the shooter had numerous run-ins with the school and should have been expelled but it was difficult because he was a member of a protected class. It would have made the expelled statistics appear biased if too many of the protected class were expelled.
