IRONIC TWIST: New York Times Columnist Suggests Trump is Now Seen as the ‘Return to Normalcy’ Candidate

New York Times columnist and pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson is saying that Donald Trump is now seen as the ‘return to normalcy’ candidate.

This is a shocking turn of events for anyone who has been following political news for the last several years. When Trump won in 2016, liberals all over the country started saying “this is not normal.” It became a common talking point.

Then in 2020, Democrats claimed that Biden would be the ‘return to normalcy’ candidate. Everyone can see how that worked out.

Breitbart News reports:

NYT Pollster: Donald Trump Seen as the Return to Normalcy Candidate

Voters perceive former President Donald Trump as the return to normalcy candidate after President Joe Biden failed to “put things back in order,” pollster and New York Times columnist Kristen Soltis Anderson recently wrote.

Anderson’s observation highlights Biden’s failure to restore America to a state of predictable stability following three years of his chaotic policies:

– Draconian pandemic mandates – Deadly Afghan withdrawal – Soaring cost of living – Growing instability in Ukraine and the Middle East – Record high invasion on the southern border

“The 2024 election will not be fought along the conventional axis of left and right or even change and more of the same,” Anderson wrote in the Times. “Voters very much want change; they have made that clear with the absolutely abominable ratings they give our leadership in poll after poll.”

“But instead of clamoring for someone to blow everything up, they are crying out for someone to put things back in order,” she wrote. “Voters wanted this from Mr. Biden and clearly feel he didn’t deliver, which is why Mr. Trump currently leads by notable margins across most of the key swing states.”

It’s amazing to hear this from a liberal at the NY

Ms. Anderson is right. The Biden Years have been a disastrous freak show.

During the Trump Administration, it was his opponents who disrupted things more than he.

More negative change, more invasion of private life, more danger to person and the republic in the last three years than I have seen in any one period in my nearly 70 years. It is an every day event.

Housing afforability, no inflation, low crime, reasonable immigration, robust economy, manageable cost of living, and end to endless wars = return to normalcy.

Xi Biden was photographed on the beach and the image made the broadcast rounds earlier today.

The dementia patient (think of an elderly Skeletor- resembling corpse) asleep in a lounge beach chair was not a good look, especially in light of the current state of the world and US affairs.

This cretin celebrated Christmas at Camp David and would have been wise to continue to hunker down there over the holiday span in Maryland, not some destination Caribbean island.

Let them eat cake.

It tells you a lot about 2024 candidate Biden that his border policy
fosters failure, lawlessness, adverse behavior, dependency, mediocrity, etc.

Biden is clearly on the side of cultural ruination, a
curious aspiration for the president of the United States.

Biden’s policies are dismantling cultural norms not
building them up, as one would expect from a chief executive.

Biden seems unable to rise above mediocrity.

We once expected presidents to advance activities and behaviors
that serve to enhance culture, into a civilization that rewards success.

If Biden cannot aspire that high then he should just get
out of the dam way and let someone take the job who does.

With friends like lyin er ah Ryan et al, the accomplishments of president Trump are even more amazing understanding the context.

My biggest complaint about Trump was all the swamp creatures he brought into his administration which sabotaged his agenda from beginning to end. However I do cut him some slack, the depth and width of the swamp was even greater than I imagined, and I hope he has learned.

His third term could be amazing, brutal as the rats will be even more terrified of losing their grift and control, but if he gets the right folks and goes scorched earth it could be glorious

Self-correction: The image broadcast and making the rounds which I am referring to was taken sometime in the past and Xi Biden is on Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. My description stands.

Why is it ironic to suggest President Trump would be a return to normalcy?

Just look at the shit show we have now.

It's ironic because so many people voted for Biden in 2016 to bring things back to normal. They assumed that because Biden had been in government for decades and didn't tweet odd things at odd hours that things would return to "normal." If you heard that over and over again, it would be strange to you now that Trump is going to bring us back to normal.

It was ironic at the time that the same people also said that Biden was "honest" and "decent," because it was clear that he was a sleazy politician. It's not ironic now that he turned out to be a sleazy politician, because it was clear that he was a sleazy politician all along.

No, the only people who could possibly see it as ironic would be those A) dumb enough in 2020 to believe Joe Biden would be a return to normalcy, and B) smart enough in 2023 to see that in fact Trump would be a return to normalcy.

And I doubt any such people exist - because if they were that dumb in 2020, they are still that dumb now. You can’t fix stupid, as they say.

As for “lots of people” - let’s not forget that 10-20 million of Biden votes were not cast by real living people.

Uh-uh. Somebody remembers how many people thought that Biden was going to return things to normal and then looks around and sees how abnormal things are now. It’s not a hard observation to make.
