If you want to see hyperbole in action, spend some time on Twitter (X). It is populated by quite a diverse assortment of liberal yokels. Someone seizes upon a theme and when the dog whistle is blown they come a runnin' for a day or two and then the air comes out of the balloon. But one theme persists-that Jan 6 was an insurrection.
It wasn't.
But that doesn't dissuade the left from continuing the nonsense.

As 2024 begins, we have to keep in the forefront of our minds that Trump and traitors poured the gasoline on , lit the match, and attempted a coup on the United States government.Y’all saw it play out in real time and no matter how the GOP tries to spin it, it was an insurrection. The Republican Party beat and killed the police they say they supported. The broke through windows and ravaged our Capitol. They erected a noose to hang our VP, and screamed for the death of our Speaker Of Congress. Unable, or unwilling to face defeat by popular vote AND electoral college, they decided, planned, and acted out pure treason on our government. Fake electors, armed militia and FOX propaganda supported this violent day on Jan 6. Trump led the failed attempt. America must hold all involved from the lowest to the highest of perpetrators.
We must not blink at the chaos they throw us. We must keep watching videos of that shocking day, and we must vote them all out. They have proven beyond any reasonable doubt that our democracy is at risk if they are re-elected.
Remember #Jan6 and how y’all felt that day. Vote Blue with such passion and in such large numbers that no one would dare to default to 2024 being rigged.
We deserve to know how and by whom the GOP was compromised to the point of treason. Hold the line!

The left loves the word "insurrection." It is a mainstay for CNN. But who has been charged with insurrection? To my knowledge, no one.
NPR grudgingly calls it what it was - a riot. A protest that turned into a riot. Newsweek also calls it a riot.
Was it armed? Not seriously. A few carried weapons with them, but the only weapon discharged that day was the one used by Michael Byrd to murder Ashli Babbitt.

Officer Evans sued Brandon Straka and Roger Stone who was not even at the US Capitol that day along with leaders of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and others.
Brandon Straka released video on Wednesday of Officer Byron Evans admitting he was watching the January 6 protests on a TV in a room in a secure location.

Well, if you look at the definition of an “insurrection” it is pretty much a riot against a government.
The bigger issue here is that people conflate the definition of an insurrection and charges from the Insurrection Act. They are two different things.
I am NOT suggesting, saying, accusing, or promoting any characterization about what happened that day. I am merely explaining definitions.
But, brace yourself. The next three or four days is going to drive you crazy with all of the comments that are going to get tossed around in the political media.
I am no Trump supporter, but it has zero do with any of this stuff. I am merely tired of old people running stuff.
I went there peacefully as a voice of dissent, that their were issues in various States that needed to be judicated and investigated. We asked to push the HOLD button until the election would be actually verified some of the issues brought before various Court Houses of foulplay. IT WAS NOT AN INSURRECTION. PLEASE, LIZ CHENEY.
The Left, Democrat, Biden, and Obama election fraud and steal of the Tuesday, November 3, 2020 vote and election was the REAL insurrection!!!!

“Insurrection” requires guns and organization. Some very few of these guys may have had guns but they were not organized.
But the Twitts will believe anything they are told.
Nobody cares. The narrative is set. Trump and his supporters are evil white supremacists and deserve killin’. That is all.
One thing missed by everyone is how small scale this erection was.
Real erections have to take over everything in a flash. The army, the intelligence agencies, the money, the power grid, the oil fields, the legislature, the capitol, the police, the airports, etc.
You’re not even serious just rushing in a couple hundred disoriented turkey hunters in camo, with no weapons or layers of structure. No command structure, no plan, no finances, no support from outside. They wandered in and took pics with their phones.
If Pres Trump organized this erection, a guy who is in charge of billions of dollars of assets and massive planned events, it was perhaps the most modest effort of his career.

The events on J6 do not amount to an insurrection by any reasonable definition. The left wants us to believe that a few thousand people from the most well-armed part of the USA population (conservatives, etc) decided to mount an attack on a WDC building. It is curious however that none of them thought to bring firearms to the event?

I’d be interested in knowing who was the first to use the term “insurrection” for J6, and when it was used. It seems to me it was almost used while it was happening. And by several people. Almost like it was planned. If someone could go back through the archives, it would provide proof that this was planned.
The severity of government against the Jan 6 events has to do with the fear government has for the 2nd Amendment. That’s why fuhrer Joe threatened the populace with the use of F-15s if they ever rebelled.
The j6 videos finally released prove that. The question is why didn’t Republicans McCarthy and whoever else had Authority get them released before they started arresting people and letting them rot in jail for the last 3 years. If McCarthy saw these and still refused to release them he should be held accountable.
