Our Democracy™: The Democratic Weaponization of Government and the Need for Decentralization

The Constitution aimed to limit the power and reach of government; its rival aims to make government triumph everywhere.

Reading Matt Taibbi’s summary how the Democrats weaponized the government against Donald Trump, starting before the election of 2016 and proceeding right up to the present moment, I am reminded once again that the issue is not democracy but “Our Democracy™.”

That is, the Democrats and their deep-state allies in the media and the myriad bureaucracies that actually run the country believe that democracy means “rule by Democrats.” As Taibbi puts it, “To ‘protect democracy,’ democracy is already being canceled. We just haven’t admitted the implications of this to ourselves yet.”

This is true. Hence the plethora of handwringing articles warning that Donald Trump is a “dictator”-in-waiting, a new Hitler, a refurbished Mussolini who, should he be reelected, will mobilize the military to impose his will on a hapless American populace. Taibbi quotes from a December 2023 “strategy memo” in which Biden’s puppeteers describe Trump as “an existential threat to democracy.”

It sounds absurd. It is absurd. But, as I and many others have pointed out, that is the story we are being asked to swallow. This is the logic:

"Trump is a “threat to democracy.”

Ergo, we must use “any means necessary” to keep him off the ballot.

Otherwise, people might vote for him, and that would be “bad for democracy.”

There is a good chance that Michael Anton is right. “They Can’t Let Him Back In,” he wrote in July 2022. “The people who really run the United States of America,” he noted, “have made it clear that they can’t and won’t, if they can help it, allow Donald Trump to be president again.”

There indeed is a crisis in democracy. The current rule of law is not serving the interests of the American people or the American nation.

It constantly puzzles me why people here don’t believe them. It’s not IF they can help it, of course they have the power and they have the will.

There is no deterrence, other than posting the price so they can at least figure out if they want to pay it. RFK -VP, for example, is a price they can’t pay.

Words have meanings, and the democrats have mastered the art of wordsmithing.

What was once a word of noble cause,freedom and self-determination has morphed into something much different in the hands of American Marxists. "Our democracy" is newspeak for "Our (communist) revolution."

I cringe whenever I hear the word 'democracy' being used. In fact I despise it now.

Article V. The Convention of States. The Founders knew that in spite of their best efforts power would tend to centralize into the District of Corruption. So they put in a peaceful process for change.

When it was really needed, such as the issue of slavery , people were too afraid to use it in time. Both sides thought the other would win so war settled the matter and the Constitution got amended that way instead.

How about we skip a bloody Second Republican-Democrat War this time around and actually use Article V?

It really says something about “democracy” that the idea of Convention of the States seems to terrify just about everyone. The fear seems to be — “If we have a Convention, and all get together to discuss, and all vote on important matters, my side might lose. I cannot tolerate the possibility that my side might lose a binding vote. Let’s have a war instead and we’ll just fight until my side wins. I hope.”

Trump is such an existential threat to the deep state that assassination is not off the table. The big problem for the leftist cabal is Joe Biden. Biden’s dementia is growing worse and the American people know it. The country is in trouble, from invading hoards on our borders, a crumbling economy and “green” policies that could push back our standard of living to almost preindustrial times. The goal is clearly to keep Trump off the ballot and then push Biden across the finish line in a race where Biden can again be hidden away. Are the people, who are so dissatisfied with the way things are, ready to re-elect a clearly senile octagenarian to again lead the country?

Other than the perverse satisfaction of seeing those other guys who are criminally insane eating bullets , War should be the final option. If the Convention does not go the way some people wanted War is something that is always waiting for its blood thirsty chance to dance.

The reset has gone so far that it cannot be turned back. Everyone needs to think more broadly than, for example, amending the Constitution.

This is how we started:

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Are you safe? Are you happy?

How could you , or anybody else , possibly know that? If Article V fails , then the next best step is what Great Britain has already done , exit from the Union.

I’ve long thought that we need to decentralize by regularly rotating depts across the country. E.g.; 2025—> IRS moves everything to Detroit, FDA to LA, etc. 2026 —> EPA to Buffalo, NY. Then, after each dept spends two years in their selected city, move them again.
Spread the jobs, prevent getting cozy, and keep them busy working instead of digging the swamp deeper.

Oh, and if you are a consultant working for a dept — YOU ARE OFFICIALLY AN EMPLOYEE OF THAT DEPT. No hiding behind a curtain of: “oh, he is a 3rd party, laws don’t apply”.
