The interest on the National Debt is now over a Trillion dollars. Since this article was off by over 600 Billion dollars I had no more interest in reading anything else it had to say.
When the government (and by extension the people) don’t worry about doing something about it, then, it’s just something that will grow larger forever. Besides, it’s only ‘other people’s money” and plenty more where it came from.
The debt can only matter to people when they have to pay their share directly and only once a year. If you pay in installments via deductions at work, then, it’s not really that large; but, when you have to pay $10,000 to $100,000 and perhaps millions of dollars in one lump sum, then it really maters and you start caring and complaining loudly.
If you were told that a migrant costs $50,000 s year to upport and that you had to pay a ‘migrant tax’ from every paycheck, then, you’d start paying a lot of attention. Migrant’s are not cheap to take care of.

His fav. securing “assets” abroad with the full faith and credit of the US.NO telling what the true debt is we may never know. No telling what zeros kickbacks were either.
Ten years ago his net worth was estimated at 8-10 billion no telling what it it now.
