He’s an economics professor. He crunched the data. He had it checked and re-checked with fresh eyes. Math & Science people are not yet thoroughly infected with political ideology. They mostly just do the work and publish the results.
But as he said in the article, his colleagues warned him “don’t publish this, you’ll ruin your career” so clearly there is pressure on science, tech, engineering and math to direct their research towards either confirming political narratives, or simply ignoring anything contradictory. Of course being tenured he won’t lose his job over it but he may not get a lot of speaking engagements or other government grants.
He expected ....
I guess he thought it would be an easy way to get that raise ..
Everyone told him he would find it ..
Everyone knows it's there..
What did go wrong?
Perhaps he should check on the source of all this political violence .... that might surprise him a little too.
