RINO Representative Mike Gallagher (WI) will exit the House as early as next month.
Gallagher, who is currently serving as the chairman of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, last month announced that he will not seek reelection.
Instead of serving out the rest of his term, Gallagher will retire early leaving the GOP with a one-vote majority!
But it’s worse than that.
Gallagher announced he will leave in mid-April. If Gallagher would have left before April 9th he would have triggered a special election in his district. Because he is leaving after April 9th but still in April, there will be no special election so the seat will remain empty.
This ensures that Republicans will lose another seat in Congress.
Dirty Ken Buck already said more Republicans will follow him out of Congress before the year ends.
This will give Democrats the majority just as the 2024 election unfolds.

I don’t think so. The USSC said only Congress can decide.

They will get the “Constitutional crisis” the left has been advocating for over the past several years. It will take time for the court process to play out and chaos will reign. Which is just what the progressives want. A “state of emergency” allows all types of “temporary” dictates to be implemented (Example: Covid). Remember their motto; “Never let a crisis go to waste”.
They will also declare a bunch of GOP Representatives and Senators ineligible, including currently serving ones. They will wait until after the election to do this.

We need a new list of names of who won’t do the right thing on the expulsion(s).
I wouldn't read too much into the decision. Juctice Barrett's opinion was very minimalist.

I join Parts I and II–B of the Court’s opinion. I agree that States lack the power to enforce Section 3 against Presiden- tial candidates. That principle is sufficient to resolve this case, and I would decide no more than that.

Trump was already charged, tried, and acquitted of inciting an insurrection.
I can’t imagine a legal theory in which he could be found guilty of this crime. It would return to the Supreme Court and get smacked down again.
My thinking exactly. It’s worth remembering that Congress certifies the election results on Jan. 6th, 2025. The new Congress will have been sworn in by then (Jan. 3rd). That tells me that any shenanigans to prevent Trump from taking office will likely have taken place before then. Here’s a list of key dates in the 2024 election transition process.

BTW, the special election to replace McCarthy’s seat will take place in May of this year. I assume the Republican nominee has the inside track. In the meantime, George Santos’s seat has been filled by a Democrat.
