VANITY as not a 'sourced story' but thought some citizen reporters here may want to pick this up.

First time I saw a hundred acre field of solar panels of I-70 my first thought was a hailstorm would make short work of it.

I would assume they have insurance of some kind.
It is unfortunate that they did not have some kind of hail mitigation device, you know storm shutters as it were.

Yet money for the landfills, taxpayers/ratepayers screwed again. The chicoms are rejoicing that they’ll supply more.

Solar panel farm just down the road from me.
The ten inches of snow we had in the one storm put it out of commission until the panels could be cleaned off.
Yeah, they’re supposed to have ice melt capability.
I have yet to see it actually work.
(Solar freaking roadways! Couldn’t keep itself clear of snow in the tech demo installation.)

You paid to install it. I guess you pay to repair and replace it.

Oh, come-on, we all know man-made climate change caused that hailstorm, we just need to double-down and put solar farms on 1,000,000 acres “to save the erf!”

My neighbors are “renting” solar panels. No money up front, $130 a month in rent. First month’s electric bill was $0.00.
Unless their average electric bill was well over $130 a month I don’t see the point...

I am going to guess this means more revenue for the CCP.
To: TigerClaws
What a mess.
All that needs to be cleaned up, disposed of or recycled, and what are they going to do? Build another one to get just as smashed up in the next storm?
And have all the save-the-earth types ever stopped to calculate the carbon footprint caused by their manufacture, installation, replacement, and disposal?

Immediately north of Colorado Springs & south of U.S. AFA is a huge solar panel farm (next to I-25) ... hail is prevalent in this area which is 6200' above sea level. Any time I drive by this extensive solar panel farm ... I question the intelligence of those responsible for making the decision that an area that experiences golf ball size hail on a regular basis would choose this vulnerable area for solar panels.
