A Salon writer has been roasted on social media for blaming the “male rage fuelling MAGA” for the recent incidents of women being punched in the face in New York City.
The leftist website published bizarre and unfounded claims in an article authored by Amanda Marcotte that the same misogyny behind Trump supporters animated the brutal attacks.
The article reads:
“These stories resonate, as well, because the nation is having a moment of increasingly unhinged male fury at women for daring to have lives that are centered around something other than catering to a man’s every whim. Unleashed by Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, there’s an upswell of loud male entitlement shouting at us from every corner.”
According to The Blaze, the article documented that CNN interviewed six female victims about the incidents, while dozens were reported on social media.
So far, three suspects in the unprovoked violence have been arrested.
The social media post on the article read:
“Men punching random women in NYC: A desperate last gasp of the male rage fueling MAGA.”
However, many slammed the tweet, saying it was another example of bizarre news media framing.
“Beyond parody,” responded Charles C.W. Cooke of National Review.
New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino wrote:
“Actually, drug-crazed and violent criminals target people who can’t fight back, and that’s usually unarmed women.”
“We can fix the problem by locking these men in prison or psych wards.”
“It’s really that simple, and doesn’t require a ninth-grade feminist think piece in Salon.”
Attorney Scott Greenfield joked:
“Amanda Marcotte has discovered the secret MAGA male rage underbelly of dark red Manhattan.”
“Can’t wait for more journalism layoffs,” said Christiana Pushaw.
“What in the f* is wrong with you?! Amanda Marcotte @Salon shows her ass in this steaming pile of hyperpartisan hatermongering horse** of an article,” read another critical response.
The article’s writer responded to the backlash by claiming that it proved she had been right all along.
“Man, I knew this article was super true when I wrote it, but the hateful emails MAGA men are sending doubly prove it. Hit dogs, as they say, holler,” she said on social media.
“Oh men, just know that your angry emails are going unread. If I see a man’s name on the email and a mention of punching women, I know what you’re going to say and will delete without a read,” she added.

I did not see this in the article, are you quoting something Amanda Marcotte said elsewhere?
Because if so I can flatly state that one of two things is either true, she is liar or the "yelling" happened when she was so absorbed in her book that she did not notice things that were happening around her and people wanted her to move out of their way.
Not an unreasonable desire on their part.
How do I know? Because I am older then her and I was (and still am) a first class book worm. From the time I was three I carried a book with me and had my nose stuck in it.
The only time I got push back was A. When I was blocking people's way, or B. When my mom told me I was not allowed to bring my book to the table but would sit, eat and converse with the family like a civilized person.
But I’m old enough to remember when I would get yelled at for reading books in public.
I feel in sudden need of a shower after reading that.
She really is an unpleasant and uninformed sort of person.
So basically it was what I assumed, it was not the fact she was reading in public but the fact she was not paying a bit of attention to what was going on around her and preventing other people from being able to go on with their lives. She could have been sewing a sampler and gotten the same thing.

You are way too nice. Nah, I think she is just lying to make a more compelling storyline.
But she proceeds it by whining about men telling women to "get off their phones".
I tend to yell, "Hang up and DRIVE!" at people. Can't even tell if they are male or female when I do it, just see someone sitting at the light while they have their arm cocked in a way that is becoming way too familiar. Guess I am now a person hater or something.
