This really puts things into perspective: With the 165 Billion we gave to Ukraine, we could have built six border walls to stop illegal immigrants from pouring across our southern border.

Could have fixed Flint's water system 215 times over easily.

I like this one. Could have given every homeless vet $2 million.

LOL! The domino theory that we were lied to about in the 60s. How did Vietnam’s entry into the Warsaw pact work out? Did they take over East Asia yet?

If i understand your argument, we should bankrupt Corrupt USA for Corrupt Ukraine because the USA is just as corrupt? Does your boyfriend agree with this logic?

Have you ever seen some of the photos where the high border walls have been sliced right through, especially in areas not close to major towns? I wonder whatever happened to the plan to have Mexico pay for the wall? Like Mexico would ever agree to do that given our history with that country. Now it might be possible to charge a 1% fee for money sent from the US to Mexico and Central American countries which could be spent on border security. And there may be more effective kinds of surviellance than just walls to track inmigration.

Then again perhaps there are some who would favor Putin’s program of the past 10 years, by encouraging border towns and villages near the US border in Mexico to rebel against their government. THey have some pretty lousy living conditions there. I have ssen them. Then it would be easy for our army to declair support for these “rebels” and move our Army in to take over that territory and set up camps for waiting US entry seekers. Lots of dry undeveloped land in those parts. Yes indeed, what an idea!

On the other hand I guess we should be glad things are as bad with the US economy as some people say they are. Think how many more people would be trying to get in if all our news was good news. With things so great in Russia it is surprising that so many are trying so hard to leave it. Human behavior is very hard to understand sometimes.

If you won’t exit the Wayback Machine, let’s go back to, about the end of the 18th century, a bankrupt France.
What happened there, X?
For extra credit—What did Edmund Burke think about our revolution, then the one that followed in France?

We spend $1,000,000,000,000+ on illegals, every year.

This aid bill is chicken scratch, compared to that.

Illegals, coming across the border, get more, every month, than I get in SS, after paying into it 45+ years.

THAT makes MY blood boil.

Stupid argument, its not either or. US spent 6.5 trillion last year, there is NO lack of funds to build the wall, democrats controlling 2/3 of government will not shut down the border.

Trump secured the border AND gave weapons to Ukraine.

Anti Ukraine arguments always change the subject. There’s a reason for that.

Biden and the democrats will not secure the border. They are taking over the country.

The only thing that will secure the border is the election of Trump, and a republican Congress, both houses, is important a well.

No. We could not have built border walls with that money. The anti American open borders monkeys (including those stinking libertarians that infest FR) would not allow it. Those fools would say that it would impede the progress of the Curly Cue desert snakes, or some such.

The domino theory, circa 1958 by ‘X’. Join the 21st century, Rip.

See? That's the problem with the world, and with individuals like you.

People refuse to learn the lessons of history, and history did not stop in 1958 or thereafter.

Russia did not stop trying to conquer their neighbors in 1958, and they've been at it since over 100 years. China did not stop in 1958, and they've become very emboldened in the last few decades in trying to take over their neighbors.

Only fools pretend that the world and its conquering dictators and over-ambitious leaders will stop. The people that do stop are those that want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend that this is a whole new world and everything history cannot repeat itself.

And things are a lot worse lately with a weakened U.S. and NATO countries. We don't have the same defensive posture not th3e same willingness to stop or go after the aggressive nations. People like you demonstrate that very clearly.

WW1 and WW2 demonstrated how things can go very wrong when people refuse to see what's clearly aggressive postures by our enemies. That enemy has never stopped, and new enemies pop up almost every new decade. WW3 is ongoing now, and though it's not a declared or hot war now like WW2, we're in it. We're losing that war as we speak, with the likes of Bill Clinton and Obama and Biden having come into power, who all weakened our defense forces.

YOU are blind to the real world occurrences, it you think that the domino theory died in the 1950s or 1960s. History is a teach3er that says that, aggressive nations continue to exist forever, and they don't just want to be aggressive within their own lands.

Wake up and stop believing your nonsense that the domino theory died in the wayback machine era. History marches on, but people are still the same; good, bad, indifferent, and with their heads in the sand. Which one are you? I think I just described you correctly.

Can you summarize what you said in your post to me?

Where do you stand with the Ukraine and Israel wars, and what do you think would be the outcome if both of those fail to repel their enemies?

It is hard to summarize only six lines. Also some of what I said was intended to make people think about some of the simplistic complaints or solutions I have encountered.

As to Israel and Ukraine I hope both will end up as independent, non invaded spaces. I have given far less thought to Israel as until both Israel and Palestine agree that the other has a right to survive, nothing will be solved, and I doubt that will happen in my lifetime, now age 85. I made the minimal attention decision 40 years ago and the picture has not changed much.

Regarding Ukraine, read the link below, it will explain better than I can why I support pushing Russia out of Ukraine to the pre 2014 borders. In particular, read bullet point number 20 about Russian plans for operations in the US to weaken us politically. Seems to be well advanced, including here at FR. I consider this book as important as Hitler’s Mein Kampf was in the 1930s. If only more people had read Hitler’s book in the 1930s, and read this Russian’s book now, perhaps serious war could have or will be prevented.
