The modern American justice system is mostly dependent on who the judge is who hears the case. Appeals are expensive, and slow, and not often successful. The trial court judge can “shape” the case to make appeals difficult by favoring one side. The rule of law is very uncertain under these circumstances.

President Donald Trump requested a new trial in the civil case brought against him by advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, who alleged that at some point she could not precisely remember in the mid-1990s he had sexually assaulted her in the dressing room of Bergdorf Goodman department store in midtown Manhattan, and that request has been denied by a federal judge. Here is another example of corrupt idiot courts running their circus.
