Voices: Paro Stands In Solidarity with SU Jewish Community as Staunch “Anti-Semite” Who Praised Hitler, Called for “Death to Jews,” Leads Encampment at His Alma Mater May 1, 2024
Syracuse, New York (May 1, 2024) – In recent hours, it has come to light that the leader of encampment demonstrations on Syracuse University campus as part of the pro-Palestinian movement called for violence against Jews. New York State Senate candidate and current Salina Town Supervisor Nick Paro supports the right to peacefully protest. However, Paro is appalled at these statements and stands firmly with the Jewish community at his alma mater and nationally during a time where we have seen these demonstrations escalate to violent acts.
At Columbia University, for example, demonstrators stormed an academic building and had to be removed by force.
As it stands, Aziza Zahran, who tweeted “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea, death to Israel death to Jews on judgment day you will lose.,” has spoken at the encampment as an organizer according to The Daily Orange reporting and the SU Student Association has put out a message to the student body condemning her statements. Paro had the following to say on these developments:
“As a proud alumnus of Syracuse University College of Law, I stand firmly with the Jewish community on and off campus during this challenging time. It is essential that all students are safe and supported by the school, and I condemn these disgusting and bigoted calls to violence. During a time of such heated division, we must come together to foster understanding, respect, and a sense of community among all Central New Yorkers. Aziza Zahran can take her genocidal ideology elsewhere.” Urbancny

Aziza Zahran [Aziza A. Zaharan] has called for the death of Jews and Israel, praised Hitler, compared Israel to Nazi Germany and justified violence against Israelis. She has also spread anti-Semitism, whitewashed terrorists and demonized Israel.
Zahran has shown support for violent protesters, engaged in anti-Israel activism and is a supporter of theBoycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Zahran was an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) in 2013 and 2014.
As of June 2022, Zahran’s LinkedIn page said she was a “Care Manager” at the Children's Health Home at the Catholic Charities of Onondaga County since January 2020 and a “Children’s Support Specialist” at the AccessCNY since October 2013.
Also, as of June 2022, Zahran’s LinkedIn said she graduated from Cazenovia College with a bachelor’s degree in “Human Services, General” in 2019.
As of the same date, Zahran’s LinkedIn said she was located in Syracuse, New York.
As of June 2022, Zahran used the handle “IsisLayla2” on Twitter and went by the name of “Isis Layla” on Facebook. Calling for the Death of Jews and Israel Zahran retweeted an April 23, 2018 tweet that said: “Dismantle ZIONIST APARTHEID[sic] THEOCRACY…” #DEATH2ISRAEL&JEWS.”
On November 16, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “I WISH HITLER WOULD HAVE FINISHED WHAT HE STARTED! ..”
On the same thread, Zahran tweeted: “...I DO NOT GIVE A SINGLE S**T ABOUT WHO THEY JEWS WERE, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PALESTINIANS.”
On November 17, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea, death to Israel death to Jews on judgment day you will lose.”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
Praising Hitler.
On November 17, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “The Jews dont like #LouisFarrakhan ,so they call him Hitler. Well that's a good name, Hitler was a great man ~ #LouisFarrakhan.”
Louis Farrakhan has been the leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), which is considered the “largest Black nationalist organization in the U.S.,” since 1977. Farrakhan spreads anti-Semitism and anti-white theology. He has referred to white people as “devils” and labeled [00:01:52] Jews “termites.” He also said [00:00:01]: “The satanic Jews…control everything and mostly everybody.” Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany On May 16, 2021, Zahran tweeted: “Are the #Jewish people the only people that can use the word #holocaust to describe the horrible human rights violations that #Nazis did to them?I'm using the word holocaust to describe the violations of human rights #Israel is doing to #Palestinians in #Gaza & all of #Palestine.”
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well. Justifying Violence Against Israelis On November 21, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “Israelis are ruthless people, they deserve every suicide bombing,ever bus explosion, every rocker [rocket]...”
Spreading Anti-Semitism. On November 17, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “I will provoke as much anger and hatred toward Israel & Jews as I could until the world wakes up.”
On November 16, 2012, Zahran tweeted: “I HAVE TRIED TO FEEL SORRY FOR THE SCUM OF THE EARTH,BUT YOU ARE BLIND IF YOU BELIEVE JEWS AND ISRAEL ARE INNOCENT.THEY DEFINE THE WORD HATE.”
On the same date, Zahran tweeted: “PEACE WILL NOT GET THE PALESTINIANS THE JUSTICE THEY DESERVE.AT LEAST HATRED WOULD HAVE SOME EFFECT. #IHATEISRAEL&JEWS. NO MORE PEACE.”
Whitewashing Terrorists.
Zahran retweeted a September 20, 2017 tweet with a photo of Rasmea Odeh that said: “Chicago-based Palestinian activist Rasmea Odeh was deported to Jordan yesterday after a 4-year targeted campaign by the US government.”
Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.
On November 23, 2014, Zahran tweeted: “Mark your calendars!! DEC 12 SOLIDARITY WITH #PALESTINIAN PRISONERS #Israel…” Zahran’s tweet included a link to Samidoun’s call for a “day of action for political prisoners.”
Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network (Samidoun) is an anti-Israel NGO whose activism spreads awareness of terrorists. At least three senior Samidoun activists are members [pp. 22-28] of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group. In February 2021, Israel’s Ministry of Justice declared Samidoun to be a “terror organization,” accusing [p. 2] the NGO of operating “as an arm” of the PFLP.
In October 2023, Germany announced it would disband Samidoun's German wing, saying: “the international network works under the guise of a solidarity group for prisoners to spread anti-Israel and antisemitic propaganda.”
Demonizing Israel.
On May 25, 2021, Zahran published a letter to the editor on Syracuse.com, accusing Israel of indiscriminate killing of Palestinians. Zahran opened her letter by saying that: “If it weren’t for the outcry of the global community, Israel would continue to slaughter the Palestinian people.”
In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Zahran retweeted a May 15, 2020 tweet that said: “I recognise and support the Palestinian right to return. #KeyToJustice #Nakba72 #Nakba @BDSmovement.”

Well...you know what they say about opinions.
I’d like to see all these protestors shoved in a gas chamber and then baked on 500 for an hour or two.
That would solve the problem.
But it won’t happen because the Jews don’t have the wherewithal to do it. They’ll just keep loading themselves and their families onto boxcars and then decrying their situation.
Before I retired after looking at ANY resume I spent an hour or so pouring over social media for any references/information on the web about the candidate. It saved me a lot of future headaches.

So goofballs just messing around on socials calling for genocide of Jews is normal to you? I would do a thorough social media check on every applicant, if I was hiring. You don’t let the snake into the house and not expect it to do snake things, good worker or not.
Hardly a surprise considering there’s a mosque either on the campus or directly abutting it. Either way, it’s within spitting distance of SU itself.
