The Mass Exodus To “Red America”
End of The American Dream ^ | 5/8/24 | Michael Snyder

Posted on 05/08/2024 4:38:40 PM PDT by Roman_War_Criminal

In recent years we have literally seen millions of Americans relocate from red states to blue states. In some cases, there is simply a desire to be around other like-minded people. In other cases, specific political policies that have been enacted in certain states have motivated large numbers of people to relocate. This was particularly true during the pandemic. Of course there are also many that are just trying to escape the crime, drugs, homelessness and violence that are plaguing so many major cities in blue states. For those that are trying to raise a family, finding a safe environment for their children is often of the utmost importance. As a result of the factors that I have just mentioned, we have been witnessing a “mass exodus” to “Red America” that is unlike anything we have ever seen before. Vast numbers of people have been moving from blue states such as California, New York and Illinois to red states such as Florida, Idaho and Montana…

More and more Americans are moving from Democratic-leaning blue states to Republican-voting red ones, and one of the effects of this change is that they are relocating to places with lower life expectancy.

Idaho, Montana and Florida, all red states, had the greatest population growth among U.S. states between 2020 and 2022. Meanwhile, New York and Illinois, both blue states, and Louisiana, a red state, suffered the biggest population losses. California, another blue state, has experienced significant recent population loss as well.

One key reason for this migration is the high cost of living in places like New York and California, compared with the lower cost of living in red states such as Georgia or Indiana.

The nationwide realignment that has been taking place is truly remarkable.

Coming from somewhere like NY I can see why you would think those things about PA. But let me assure you, as having been born and raised in that ... place, it is FAR BETTER in TEXAS.

the colors weren’t standardized.

The colors were not standardized until 2000, that's because of Bush vs Gore recount fiasco.

I hope that does not happen in Florida. I did not leave Maryland for Florida, only to have Florida turn into Maryland.

It really got reversed in the Bush-Gore election of 2000.

Red was the color of the Left since Marx and the 1850s.

Republicans were Patriot blue.

The media reversed it all in 2000.

That is interesting.

I’d rather be the red team.

I saw a study that showed that red won more than blue in Olympic sports like boxing.

Woods wore red every Sunday.

I wear red shirts if winning and losing is involved.

I associate red with winning. lol

This exodus is not new, it just intensified.

For at least 20yrs prior, 1000 people a day moved fr blue to red.

When asked, the Dems claimed retirees and the advent of air conditioning.

When the internet appeared, surveys from moving companies showed economic prosperity and/or job opportunities were the most often cited reasons.

When leftists were asked about it-adding but you folks spend so much money on social programs, shouldn’t you be attracting folks and not losing them in droves? The leftist imbeciles have zero retort.

Of note, one telling thing are the costs/capita to operate the states. The last time that I divided the populations by the budgets, NY was twice as expensive to run per person as Florida. In general, the blue states costs per person are insane.

How would I know why they didn’t fix the error? I suspect laziness.

It might also be that they wanted to distract us from the intern’s error.

I felt a similar way about the beautiful corner of the blue state I was living in. That is, until Covid hit, and then the governor locked everything down, was forcing all state employees and contractors to get vaxxed. After living there for over a decade with a great job, I resigned and headed back to Texas. The land is not as pretty, there’s more traffic, it’s hot and dusty, lower quality food, etc., but it is sure nice to live in a free state where nobody is trying to force me to get Covid vaxes. Covid really made clear to me that I would never move back to a blue state.

At least it may take some time. My son moved there. He says every county in Florida voted for Trump in 2016.

self deluded people often appear happy.

Desantis isn’t governing to help the Citizens, he is governing to get the next step up the ladder for himself.

He has authority to stop illegals from entering, and for years he has not.
IF he used his authority FL crime and all sorts of related wasteful expenses, injuries and deaths to Citizens that happen when illegals are allowed inland to roam around doing as they please, would be down.

Florida is sliding into a hell hole just like the rest of the states since desantis isn’t doing the major thing he could have done since day one of his sitting in the governor chair, secure his states borders from illegals coming in. Desantis is on the hook ethically for all illegals who he allowed in, he transported around or they roamed around to other states and did harm.

every governor is not using their authority. When Fed government isn’t doing it’s job to secure our countries borders it’s falls to the state leader to do so, any then to every elected position below.

Lots of people collecting their pay checks for years and NOT doing their sworn job.
