California Supreme Court Rules 7-0 People Cannot be Detained for Trying to Evade Police Officers

The California Supreme Court declared that law enforcement officers cannot detain individuals because they attempt to avoid police contact. This unanimous decision has stirred a significant response from police unions, who argue that it will hamper their ability to maintain public safety effectively.

The court, in a 7-0 decision, stated that actions such as appearing to conceal oneself or acting nervously do not alone provide a sufficient basis for officers to detain individuals.

This was elaborated in an opinion by Justice Carol Corrigan, emphasizing that while such behaviors could be considered within a broader context, they do not meet the threshold of “reasonable suspicion of criminal activity” necessary to legally detain someone.

But, of course, retard cops with room temperature IQs will continue harassing people who want nothing to do with them.

Criminals want nothing to do with them. May you and yours be spared contact with them (the free-range criminals, not the cops!).

Everybody will run from the cops. Why would the cops give chase anymore?

They can't outrun a bullet. Make fleeing a felony and shoot fleeing felons!

Well not anymore. I’m not obligated to walk into a trap.

It's only a trap if you've done something. Otherwise it's just an annoyance.

Suspicion of concealing a firearm?

In more than half of these Unite States, concealing a firearm is recognized as a Constitutionally protected activity.

Right. But it doesn’t matter when you have trash cops. Here’s a video of a legally blind old vet stopped by Florida cops for carrying a concealed firearm. Except that it wasn’t a firearm. It was a folding cane. Cops decided to hassle the crap out him anyway. The old guy ended up in jail.

Yeah ... I’ve seen that one. It’s a classic.

1) Anybody who even remotely suspects that his folded-up cane might be a firearm is too [censored] stupid to be a Wal*Mart greeter, much less a peace officer.

2) Shrill voice ... “female cop” is, generally, a Thing Which Should Not Exist.

3) Immediate escalation by the copchick. Her mentality must be vigorously and forcefully eradicated from the entire police community. To be clear, her “escalate, intimidate, dominate” mentality is not restricted to copchicks. Cops are their own worst enemies.

I’m not obligated to be annoyed either.
