I really dislike being on too many ping lists, but if this has been ongoing, there's no telling how many interesting articles I've missed. I count on FR to be a clipping service, so I don't have to scan too many other sites to get the skinny.
But I don't have a vote, either, so I suppose there's no point in blathering on about it.
A shortcut to being on the ping lists is to use the indexing. I index them when I ping. Click on the link in my ping post and that will take you to the index page that you can stick in your favorites list.
