It is said by some that Nefertiti was a Mitanni.

The Mitanni (alongside the Hurri) were a race of Central Asian charioteers who had carved out a kingdom in Northern Mesopotamia (note Nefertiti's high Tartar cheekbones). It would have been an alliance based on providing Egypt with horses, which were not native to ancient Egypt.
