>>Aren't Norwegian Forest cats even larger than Maine Coons?
"The males are large and imposing (averaging 12 to 15 lbs) while the females are considerably smaller (8 to 10 lbs)." -- From Post #66.

I Blog BooksThe skogkatt I referred to was a heathy 19 pounds, and very tall. He walked up a kind of cat-ladder/shelf his person had built in the dining room, to get access to the kitchen work-areas through a pass-through door. He knew how to open this little door if it was shut.

He's also the only cat I ever met who would come to you if you called his name (Karl). I felt kind of sorry for the cat, because his person was such a loonie, she had asked the vet to shave him and declaw him because she didn't like having to comb his fur. She had left it so long it was completely matted, and when she tried to brush it out, he would claw her.

When he found out I knew how to comb a cat's hair correctly (without pulling it out), he would actually "fetch" the comb to me as soon as I walked in the house. I still go by to visit him now and then. I think I'm still named as his "guardian" in her will, too.
