What I report here is obviously hearsay. It comes from someone I have only met once, and through a third party. The source is/was a volunteer with the Sheriff's Dept in New Orleans. He was asked not to leave and did not, at least for a while.
He talked about his group of eight dealing with armed and hostile gangs roving wherever he was. Apparently these gangs would attack people with boats attempting to help others and take them over. He said his group of eight killed EIGHTY people. Apparently one of his group is in critical condition from a gunshot wound and this is what caused him to get out. FWIW, the source is in the investment business.

I fired my gun and the thugs they kept a come'n. There wasn't nare as many as there wus a while ago.
This thread isn't worth posting given that it is based on speculation from an alleged third party source. It doesn't serve in the best interests of anybody. This is as much a waste of time as those who prefer to spend time pointing fingers than figuring a way to help the victims!
We caught the bloody british in the town of New Orleans.
Just about every person I talked to about the hurricane mentioned how furious they were about the looters. Most want to see the police and armed citizens shoot them.Anybody who would resort to looting at a time like this doesn't deserve to breathe the same air we breathe.
Eight in a boat killed eighty?
Without further info I'll back your opinion.
I'd buy "Shot at about eighty". A boat in an unsteady shooting platform, especially with eight excited guys. A boat is also the biggest target. A few shots from the bad guys and there would be big holes in the boat.
Then again maybe those "Investment Types" had a couple of MG-3s (German) mounted in the bow. Now they would clear a block or two.
Hey...we're singing a song here. That makes the thread viable.
Looters are the dregs of society.
The needy took a little bacon and they took a little beans,
And we shot the bloody thugs with the Sanyo plasma screens.
I understand.
But what do you think you're getting from CNN?
File my report away. If you don't hear any more like it then your assessment is probably correct. But if you do start to hear others like it, or even ones like the one posted while I was typing mine, At Least 5 Killed By Police In New Orleans (Bad Guys Killed-Not Contractors), then maybe you will think about this some more.

Believe me, when this is over, we are going to find out a lot of what the MSM has said was bullsh!t.
No speculation here. This was based upon a phone call the guy made to someone in my family.

Good one. Lolololol
If they were dumb enough to go for Sanyo brand anything, they deserved it!
No the thugs killed 80 people... probably good-hearted Cajuns who brought their boats out to help. The Cajuns are great people... the thugs from NO are ungrateful savages.
I was all depressed the other day going to work, thinking about how my employer would not let me do what would be necessary if this would be happening where I work. Then I remembered the Sgts I've met so far and one asst. Chief who I know would take the leashes off after a couple of days.
Your tune is hillarious by the way.
LOL...although the Sanyo microwave in my camper has been holding on for close to ten years now. I really know how to rough it.
And a darn good song at that! Guess the the thread police has no sense of humor? :-)
I don't blame you. Things may change after this mess though.
I heard N.O. has no disaster/major incindent command center/ops center. They are bigger than my city so that's just unbelievable.
Of course it's all one big party down there so who knows.
Ha ha ha! Just keeps getting better!
