One of Stargate Atlantis's own will not be with the show in Season Four, according to reports. Paul McGillion will no longer be a regular cast member, with his character Dr. Carson Beckett departing in the second half of Season Three.
Fans have speculated about the move for months based on subtle hints from various cast and crew, even establishing a campaign at SaveCarsonBeckett.com before the news was confirmed, to try and change the producers minds. The news was confirmed by executive producer N. John Smith at last week's Collectormania event in England.

Bummer. I really liked him. Kinda wierd they'd give him a spot as a regular for only one season.

I hate to see him go. Enjoyed his Scottish burr, and his character.
